What do you people think of Watto's hat?

He lives in the desert? Why would he wear a hat? It makes him look French. Not to insult the French but it does.

 

It probably shades his face....

He's the best-dressed grotesque looking monster on the entire planet of Tatooine.

That hat adds just the hint of urban sophistication that every blue butterfly-winged slave owner needs to look his best and get down with his flygirls and homies.

 

If we're talking about the guy who started this thread, then I'd have to say I don't know because we haven't been aquainted yet . But if we're talking about Watto's hat, then I'd have to say its ghetto none the least.

 

It looks better every time I see it.

Plus it makes a good frisbee.

 

It looks like the hat Groucho Marx used to wear towards the end of his career...

I personally think that an Indiana Jones-style fedora would be frickin' SWEET, but that's just me.

 

I actually really wanted to see Watto's hat in TPM. But now that's in AOTC, that's even better, because I guess that's his way of "aging" between films... a pleasant surprise.

 

The hat looks pretty fine, but not half as good as his beard!

AOTC - Hat and beard.

Anyone who thinks Lucas isn't upping the ante and going all out for AOTC just needs to take a look at Watto. One glance and you know this movie is going to rock...

 

hew- he had stubble in TPM and in AOTC he really doesn't have a full-blown beard either, it's more like "extended stubble".

I like Watto's hat, I hope he wears it in Episode III.

 

I hope he's not in Episode III. Don't get me wrongo, the Toydarian is good, he's a credit to George Lucas.

Its just, I really don't think that the story calls for us to see Watto again. Plus, since George reportedly filmed one scene while working in Tunisa on AOTC for Episode III, I doubt we will see much of Tatooine either. My guess was that it was Obi-Wan delievering Anakin to Owen....

Maybe Anakin is going to kill him & when he does, he goes to the Dark Side. I hope not tough since Watto is one of my favorite character.

 

Okay, lets take a look at your theory a little more closely. Please answer me these three questions:

1) Why would Anakin return to Tatooine?

2) Why then, would Anakin return to Watto's shop?

3) What reason would Anakin have to kill Watto?

Maybe Padme dies & Watto is nearby for some reason, so he kills Watto in a mindless rage. Unlikely though.

 

Why would Padme be on Tatooine?

How would Watto leave Tatooine, and how would he be dressed well enough to be in the presence of a Senator?

Okay, the idea was just something that popped into my head. I'm sure George Lucas will show Watto's fate though.

 

Why? In my opinon he has shown his fate already. Did you see the downtrodden Watto in AOTC. He seemed a lot less happy than he was in TPM. I really felt sorry for him. When he said that he lost everything, he wasn't kidding!

No I mean the reason why he wasn't in the OT.

 

Well, why should he be in the OT? He lives in Mos Espa, the Skywalker's live near Mos Eisley. Apparently, judging by Watto's commnet in AOTC, the two are very far apart from one another.

Why do you feel that Watto's fate should be explained, and not, say, Sebulba's?
