Inspired by a similar thread regarding Lecersen, I'm wondering what ever happened to Moff Vilim Disra after he was arrested aboard the Relentless? Seriously, we never hear from him again. What happened to this guy?
No, but I could see him making yet another comeback with the Hand of Thrawn being his beer hall putsch. He probably died in the space pokey. =(
He was guilty of reason looong before the fake Thrawn business but nevermind that, as Pelly the wimp accepted everyone into the fold.
Heh. So, you've finally accepted that the Imperial Remnant headed by Pellaeon and based on Bastion is the legitimate successor state to the Galactic Empire founded by Palpatine in 19BBY?
Disra is the only surviving member of the Central Committee of Grand Moffs. As a result, he was the greatest hero the Empire ever had.
I would love to learn more about Disra --- nay, about all eight Moffs at the time of Hand of Thrawn. Since the Remnant's territory at that time was all within former Pentastar Alignment territory --- were all eight Moffs former Alignment politicians? Did Disra serve under Kaine for a while? I'd love to know more.
Unlikely -- as C19 notes, Disra aligned himself with the Central Committee. He had his base in the Core region after backstabbing Tigellinus. Given that Kaine died well before Pelly's Remnant was formed, and given that the Remnant was formed out of a combination of Daala's appropriated warlord assets and a series of fortress world moffs, it's probable that Disra either moved into the area after the fall of Kaine or that he was a moff of a sector outside that small region and witnessed his space shrink after the Orinda campaign.
It might be worth noting that Pellaeon let Moff Flennic live, and that was after the latter pulled a blaster and took a shot at the admiral. It's not inconceivable that Pellaeon showed mercy in Disra's case.
I'd bet on the former rather than the latter. Following the Final Imperial Push and the reduction to eight sectors, it doesn't seem likely that any of the Moffs of those eight remaining sectors would give up their holdings, especially since they were the governing body of the Remnant and had the last word on everything. I think it's likely that Disra controlled the Braxant sector from pretty early on in the Remnant's history, probably even earlier, in the last years of the Alignment. I wonder if all eight Moffs of the Specter sectors were part of the Alignment when Pellaeon first approached them.
I do find it kind of hilarious everyone in the Empire called Kaine insane and a traitor for creating the Alignment but they're the group which outlasted them all. OTOH, Colonel Stormcaller and the Red Moons never succeeded in liberating their homelands.
That was a Flimsy excuse for a pun. Then again, it made me laugh so hard that it brought me to Tierce.
