How would events have played out differantly through out the star wars saga if the jedi knight turned jedi grand master anakin skywalker in his prime had never fallen to the dark side. had never become darth vader and instead had actually co founded the rebel alliance with padme instead

For all intents this anakin being from a paralell reality alternate universe in which he went on to live a a happy healthy normal childhood growing up as a jedi padawan in training
Mace windu himself having raised and trained him up as his mentor with this anakin having grown into the role of grand master as mace windus successor to the role .

This anakin being a great deal more emotionally and psychologically stable due to his having lived through a happy childhood as he grew up. And having. Sensed a great and terrible disturbance in the force with the destruction of alderaan he somehow jumped from his native dimension reality to that of the main universe to join the rebel alliance to take part in the events of the original trilogy

Think about that for a moment

A calmer less head strong more savvy and far more experienced anakin skywalker in his prime as a jedi grand master vs the main reality darth vader in the events of the original star wars. Trilogy

I think it would be a interesting opportunity for vader to find some sense of closure in his life in fighting anakin seeing him as both a most worthy opponent that vader has a great deal of respect and admiration for

where vader is concerned he is the only one deserving of the honor to kill anakin in battle

But at the same time as vader repeatedly fights Anakin in battle after battle Darth Vader would find himself slowly learning how his life could have played out differently alongside padme for the better it being a case of hindsight concerning Vader looking back on the path not taken in discovering what could have been otherwise hence Vader finding some sense of closure in a manner for vader to make some bit of peace with his past

For vader it would be in its way a love hate relationship between him and anakin

On the one hand he would find that he very much enjoys fighting anakin in battlw for the opportunity to match wits and fists with a equal oppponant in battle who so perfectly compliments him as a jedi oponent who is literally his better half as a respectable selfless compassionate all around ..really nice guy hero type so yeah he admires him in a certain sense but vader hates that he must stand against anakin as a enemy

In a way vader finds that he kinda sorta has a mancrush on anakin

That whole scene where the justice league batman kinda sorta has a brain fart towards the end when he realises the justice lord batman might actually be right about everything in his flawed way

Picture that sort of situation playing out between the alt reality heroic jedi jedi grand master rebel freedom fighter anakin skywalker and darth vader

Anakin attempting to talk vader around to the light and vader trying to pull off a long con game with one of them or the other realizing they may both have the right idea but the wrong way of doing it from eachothers opposite viewpoint

In a sense vader be having a midlife crisis

On the one hand he dearly values the alt reality heroic jedi master anakin skywaker as a friendly rival who he understands is genuinely there for him as a friend for seeing the good that still exists buried deep within vader

On the other hand though while vader believes he has done far too much evil. To be worthy of salvation vader believes that he has murdered far too many to be worthy of redemption but most especially he believes he should be condemned to his self made living hell for his having caused the death of his beloved padme

In his way vader believes that if anyone deserves the right to kill him it is his heroic alt reality self

In their way vader and alt reality anakin both effectively complete eachothers missing half. In a very tragic enemies in public

Friendly rivals in private sort of way

I think this would be more interesting if it were framed differently, as in having Luke's father and Darth Vader be different people in a literal sense as most fans believed coming out of the original film. I don't think it would have been better, but exploring that concept would have been interesting.

    Not surprising.
