Hurrah! thanks for adding Dreamcatcher. That is one of the more recent SK book's I've read and i have to say i was really impressed. I can't WAIT for the movie!

    Dreamcatcher Trailer

Although I really really enjoyed the DT saga (when is the next one coming out????) , The Stand, and IT.

And almost everyother one he's written :p

Also, has anyone read his On Writing? It's pretty interesting!

I said it before, I'll say it again...The Stand is one of the best books written in the past 30 years.

I can't believe The Talisman wasn't on the list!

My favorite, and the best IMHO, is The Stand - Uncut. It took me about 3 weeks to read it and I was actually depressed when I finished it because I wanted it to go on for longer. It felt like my best friend died.

The Stand is one of the best epics written in the past century. It's a tale of good vs. evil, set in the contemporary world. It gets my vote.

There are countless classic books by King, but of the choices offered I opted for IT, which is a wonderful tale, with a genuinely sinister villain, Pennywise the clown.
It's a wonderful tale of childhood innocence lost based on the old myth of the troll who lives under the bridge.

I've neither read The Stand nor seen the film, so (whether by default or quality)...

The Dark Tower series, it is.

i loved (almost) every book up there, and more that are not up there. but my favorite is the dark tower series. an epic tale that has not yet reached it's climax!

droideka: september 2003, wolves of the calla
    november 2003, susannah's song
    march 2004, the dark tower.

those are the last three DT books. for more king info, look at the SK community in the ampitheatre. [/shameless_selfpromotion]

The Stand: Very wierd, but strangely appealing.

I've read half of nightmares and dreamscapes and about 250 pgs of IT and IT is by far the greatest epic I've ever attempted. IT has just this feeling of a sense IT was real. therefore IT gets my vote

Thanks! oooh, i can't wait. I loved those very much. i was very sad when i finished the fourth one and realized there were no more yet.

as a matter of fact I've like every SK book he's written with the exclusion of only 2 or 3.

I love The Stand, it's my favorite. I have the soft and hard copy of the Un-cut version. I also have the DVD and VHS of it.

I really enjoyed the The Stand but I've had the hardest time getting in to The Dark Tower series. I'm still on the first book.

I enjoyed Salem's Lot the most.

It scared me while no other King books have done that. I do like It and The Stand but for different reasons.
