What is the REAL meaning of the word "EVIL"?

Im making a serious thread here so focus.

There are so many opinions on what is evil and what is not. My guess is that it all comes down to what to means ourselves. If it offends me then its evil. If it doesn't offend me then its not evil. Religion is like this. I didn't make this thread to bash religion.

What are your thoughts?

Evil is that primal fear in all of us. That feeling deep down inside the black core of our hearts that urges us to kill. It's that selfishness we all possess to an extent, no matter how much we deny it. It's the part of our souls we try desperately to hide from the world for fear of rejection and pain. It's that boiling, stewing hatred that sits brewing in the pits of our stomachs every time we are wronged. That feeling that we hold in with all our might, only for it to burst forth in a gorry frenzy of death and suffering for those around us when we've reached our breaking point. Evil is in all of us. Evil is in you. Evil is in me. Evil is everywhere, and if we don't learn to control it, it will be our demise.

EDIT: It's that tightness in your throat. It's that tremble you develop when rage overwhelms you. Evil is the basis of all things.

Evil is a matter of opinion and really comes down to morals and individual beliefs. Granted, the majority of humanity shares basic views on evil, like eating babies. Eating a baby is evil. Or is it...?
