So there is a newly announced Vader comic (they can’t stop milking the cow, can they?), called “Dark Visions”, in which, from my understanding, Vader would be more of an anti-hero in this one. That should be fun to see.

That one was cancelled, right?
Honestly I didn't have any expectations, as I'm not a fan of Wendig's writing

 

Same for me! I will always be interested in more Vader, but I would have preferred to stick with the current series... of course, if it had run its course then it´s fair enough, I will totally check Dark Visions. I wonder if it´s it will have something to do with a more adult oriented version to the horror approach of Tales from Vader´s Castle?

 

I got the impression that he already was being portrayed as sort of an antihero in the comics? At least inasmuch as he was the protagonist whom we were rooting for? What are they gonna do, try to make him the Star Wars version of Deadpool?

 

I think in the comics so far he has been a Villain Protagonist. His evilness and monstrosity are very much emphasized.

I supposed Dark Visions will emphasize more the side of Vader that is not evil? I don't know.

 

In the Shu-Torun wars, there was a moment where Tryos men were saying "finally, the Empire is here" full of relief, with the Imperial forces representing the direct possibility of ending the civil war and restoring peace in their planet. Perhaps this could be a series with Vader dealing with other forms of evil, not involved necessarily with the Empire itself? In such a big Galaxy, there must be an huge amount of those...

 

Or maybe it will show us more of his internal conflict?

 

If they do, I hope they handle it with care. I don't miss the mopey Vader of Legends.
But my impression though is that they will just put him in situations where he has to protect planets and civilians from "bad guys", not out of altruism but because it's for the good of the Empire or something.

So, the Darth Vader comic has come to an end, and what an end it was! the things the Sith Lord must think/remember every time he comes back to his castle! It made something very well, I believe, and that was showing us the transition from Ep. III Anakin to OT Vader. And Momin was a great antagonist... any thoughts on this series?

Y'all seen the cover for the new Vader comic series yet? He's riding a horselike creature and legit looks like a literal knight.

 

He's certainly not horsing around.
