Discussions What is your favorite duel, fight, or battle in the EU?

You can answer any one of these or all three.

Personally, my favorite fight would probably be Darth Plagueis vs. the Maladian assassins. My favorite duel is probably Jaina Solo vs. Darth Caedus.

The Exile vs Darth Sion, though I would say that is more about the dialogue and internal struggle than the fight itself.

Will say many fights in SW kinda lack suspense to me because its often crystal clear who will come out on top. So it being inside a video game were you as the player can loose might help as well...

 

What's interesting is that we learn everything we need to know about how Ka Can Darach fights from this trailer alone. Evidently, he uses an Ataru variant of Niman. Also, Vindican, as a member of the Sith species, would have most likely healed from this wound, but Malgus executed him for his failure.

 

Qui Gon vs Xanatos

 

Luke vs Lumiya and her lightwip was pretty cool in the 80s comic. He even built a second saber to help defeat her whip in their rematch.

The Seventh Battle of Ruusan was pretty wild with the Thought Bomb. As for favorite, it'd probably have to be one of the space battles in the Thrawn Trilogy.

Tough question there so many interesting battles, but I would say Bane and Zannah vs Farfalla and his jedi.

 

AS for battles my favorite battle it would be The battle of Rakatan Prime In the climax of KOTOR

 

I have to choose Wedge singlehandedly taking on more than an entire squadron of Coralskippers during the evacuation of Borleias. He's in an unfamiliar X-wing, with no back up and no way of calling for help. He's the commander-in-chief, who's been directing and holding together this whole operation for weeks, buying the galaxy time to recover after the loss of Coruscant. He could just fly to safety and no one would bat an eyelid.
But there's a small group of civilians who need his help to get away, and Wedge can't bring himself to leave them behind, even at the likely cost of his own life. He's flying another pilot's ship, and if he dies, his wife and young daughters may never know what happened to him.
So Wedge sets about destroying any enemies that could prevent the civilian ship from leaving. First, 3 dozen group troops, a rakamat and a single coralskipper. Then he defeats an entire squadron of skips, then, in his damaged ship, he takes on another squadron, in spite of the odds against himself. It's a masterclass in starfighter combat, and all without the help of the force.

Maybe not my number one, but one of my favorites is the Battle of Galidraan from the greatly underappreciated Jango Fett: Open Seasons miniseries.

The ending fight between Jango and an unnamed Jedi is especially memorable IMO.

 

I really enjoy the Yuuzhan Vong War one, if that's the one you mean. It's nice to see Wedge as a full-blown fleet commander. And Czulkang Lah's running commentary is priceless.

Can't wait for the Rogue Squadron unabridged audiobook release in a couple weeks.
I remember some of that Battle of Borleias, but can't wait to read/hear it.
