What is your favourite Star Wars movie?

This has been asked many times, in many forums, but have placed here to centralize and reduce redundantcy across all forums.

 

Interesting results so far.

 

Definitely ROTJ; I like Anakin's redemption scene.

How can you hate the ewoks?

 

ROTJ-- the throne room sequence, and Battle of Endor are the high points in the entire saga. And the Ewoks aren't all bad, either (remember they were going to eat our heroes for dinner? How cool is that!)

 

"I'm quite embarrassed, General Solo, but it appears that you are to be the main course at a banquet in my honor."

Episode II!

 

ESB ESB ESB ESB....

 

ESB. I was five when Vader cut off Luke's hand and told him he was his father. I didn't believe him. I also thought Luke and Leia should get together.

 

If it weren't for the Ewoks.....

 

The one we used to call "Star Wars".

 

CountJared: I was eight--I didn't believe him either. People who were born later will never know the suspense we did, having to wait three years for find out if Vader was telling the truth.

 

I didn't think that ROTJ would end up coming second so far . . .

I always envisioned:

1) TESB
2) ANH
3) TPM
4) ROTJ

 

The Gatherer, that's my personal order right there.

Interesting results. On this TF.N poll, TPM, ANH, and RotJ were all pretty close to each other.

Curiously enough, Gatherer and Jeff, that's also my personal order.

Which is kind of interesting. I recall that in TFN's interview with RA Salvatore, he also ranked them the same way. I think that's a fairly common ranking of the four films.

EDIT: For comparison's sake, here's my Lit Forum Poll on the films (plus opinion on the New Jedi Order).

The results were:

ESB: 52% (44 of 84)

RotJ: 31% (26 of 84)

ANH: 12% (10 of 84)

TPM: 5% (4 of 84)

So Literature fans appear to like RotJ more than the average Star Wars fan, while liking TPM a bit less. However, the results could have been afffcted the pairing of the film question with opinion on the New Jedi Order series.

Have there been similar forum-specific polls on movie preferences?

 

I love them all. But I love ESB just a little bit more.
