Obviously we need more female Star Wars fans!
*waves at The Gatherer*
yeah, I'd say so. Come on ladies, where are you?
Here I am!!!
Huh...I guess my theory is right throughout the world. I always thought SW was more a male-based cult . Most of my friends are too flighty and shallow to see the beauty in SW...exceot for a couple guys I know. I know of only one other girl who really likes SW, and a lot of boys.
I've always been the exception, and I like it that way
Hey, I've been a SW fiend since 1977 and continue in my addiction despite a lot of folks thinking I'm totally nuts (of course, they could be right).
You forgot other.
Yes! The men rule! HAHAHAHAHA!
What? No "other?"
more men = more than one to every girl = (more men to tease rolleyes.gif to some) =
There really should be more female Star Wars fans...it'd give me a better chance of getting a girlfriend...
If the guys would just make sure to teach their little sisters to love Star Wars at an early age then there would be plenty of SW girls. It would also help if we all teach our future kids/nieces/nephews/cousins to love SW too. I love Star Wars because of my uncle took it upon himself to show me the movies until I had them memorised. I was hooked before I could read.
Interesting that so far there are 70% guys, while [link=http://theforce.net/jedicouncil/surveys/survey56.shtml]this TF.N survey[/link] had a whopping 80% male. Are female fans more likely to post on message boards?
Julie is right. I'm a fan because my dad took me to see the OT in the theater when I was a kid.
I'm doing my duty. While she'll probably never post here I taught my sister to like the Star Wars saga.
Julie: My brother did that to me! now they have a hard time making me talk with them.
the gap's closing slightly... I guess that's a good thing
Actually in the Nordic Countries FanForce I think there are almost more girls than men.
I'm not sure, let me check.
Are female fans more likely to post on message boards?
Yes, I would say female fans are more likely to post on message boards.
By using stereotypes, we can say that females are more keen on two-way communications than males.
Of course, this doesn't apply to every single woman, nor man, but with somewhat big numbers, the tendency is there.
Two-way communication? You mean this entire message board isn't a bunch of men pontificating all day long on Star Wars? I'm outta here!!!
I have a sneaking suspicion that there are more girls than guys in the Fanfiction board. (and that's not just because there are so many romance stories, there's a lot of action ones too)
