Fun What is your latest purchase?

Ordered a pepperoni pizza for my friend and I last night.

So to celebrate, I got Chinese takeout tonight. Sesame chicken with broccoli and an order of Chicken, vegetables and cashews.

 

Weary of ordering Toilet Paper from Whole Foods so often (Amazon/WF gets way too much from me), so I’m trying this. May it be softer than the previous Bamboo TP we tried.

Yes (I said it was very good above).

The one thing Urban Remedy does well is sweets (their chocolate chip superfood cookies are amazing). It’s nice to pay less at Whole Foods, and not be bound to a $95 UR site minimum outside of CA.

 

Groceries. Skipped the Blue Milk this time, but perhaps next pay day I'll get some more (Have to make sure I have fruit and nuts on hand since cereal is a no-go now.)

 

I went to the used bookstore today intending to buy a single paperback. I left with the paperback and six hardcovers.

That's terrific; you got some good books. Did something similar meself about a month ago when I left the bookstore with 5 Doctor Who books unexpectedly.

Just grabbed the remaining two Gianni Garko Sartana movies for under $6. As much as I love the character, could never justify $60 for the blu ray set. Now $12 for all four Garko Sartana Flix in HD (and Italian!) - yes, please.

I'm not buying Gamera movies...

Today:
Bought three Gamera movies (on sale). Gamera vs. Gyaos, Gamera vs. Guiron and Gamera Guardian of the Universe. Giant rubber monsters duking it out amid stupid humans is the best kind of therapy.

I’ve bought a lot of Star Wars books in the past month. Dozens of hardcovers for my collection.

But of all the lovely hardbacks I’ve obtained, this one is the one I’ve been awaiting the most.



One of my favourite books of all time. I prized my copy for years until it disappeared. Now, at last, I have a new one. And it’s come a long way to be here with me.



Fitting, given that my first copy was also a library copy.

 

Eyeing me Gojira blu rays and looking to make a return to awesome silly rubber monsters meself as well.

Last purchase was Doctor Who: Season 26 on blu ray starring Sylvester McCoy, his third and final season. Should be here by Friday!

New hot water heater - old one started leaking during lockdown when plumbers couldn't make house calls. (Luckily it's slow enough that I could have some strategically placed cleaning cloths/paper towels to soak up most of the water.) Installation is currently scheduled for Tuesday. Glad they take credit cards.. Old one was here when I bought the flat so it's at least 30 years old if not more. Plumber who came to measure for it was impressed it was still working.

 

TP and dental floss from Costco.

 

Finally tracked down a recent Hong KongTV wuxia featuring John (David) Chiang tonight. Thankfully, it has English subtitles, plus John’s adorably bad wig. This number gives Gary Oldman’s Dracula ‘do a run for his Transylvanian coif. Decided I’d rather have this than one of the Eurocult blu rays tomorrow.

Yay! Finally ordered the Ray Lovelock Italian psychedelic fairy tale horror Queens of Evil on blu ray. Been waiting at least twelve years for someone to give this a proper release (and this company announced it almost two years ago).
