What Lucasfilm should do after EPIII?

Exactlly what it says. I think they should remake American Graffiti; such as putting in scenes that were cut or just completely remake it with a modern cast.

 

I don't know if a remake is the best idea.

I think after Episode III, Lucas will make Indy 4.

After that Lucas will retire.
That is just my opinion.
I would love it if Lucas began to make other films, but I doubt it.

^ Let's not forget that plans to make Indy 4 are, after all, already in place.

I think a remake of American Graffiti would be a bad idea. It was after all about Lucas' youth, which he is now far removed from. If he wants to write about events in his own life, he could write something about how success changed his life, or about being a father, or about any # of (somewhat) more recent things.

What do you think Lucas will be doing after he's finished with Star Wars?

Now I know I don't mod here any more, but one thing I liked to do was unlock and up old topics when new identical ones started up because this place is SO slow, it's really cool to preserve the forum history and resurrect the threads that have been autolocked whenever possible.



But this ain't my place anymore, so if you think it's better for the forum to start the topics fresh when they're so old that they're autolocked, that's totally understandable.

 

He's said he's interested in documentary filmmaking and even mentioned something about the Roman Empire. That was a while ago, however.

 

with his fantasy orientated mind and CG antics...i think he could make a great movie about Roman/Greek Gods.

 

Not better than Clash of Titans, mind you, LOL

He needs to do something completely original, LUCAS STYLE!

 

One of the ideas Lucas thought of doing post-prequels was having a mini-series set during the time of the Roman Empire.

The story would follow 3 characters from different classes(administrator, slave, etc.)and present the same events from the characters different perspectives.

Who knows what will come of it though. Perhaps nothing?

 

I hope they get around to releasing all of the Young Indiana Jones series on DVD. Including lots of goodies.

 

You talked about re-making American Grafitti, but not what I think he should re-make.

His first film. THX-1138. A re-make of this film with todays technology and his expiriance would be amazing.

There was a sequel to American Grafitti called More American Grafitti.. GAG..

Here's an idea.. why doesnt Lucas do something ORIGINAL instead of remakes or special editions or sequels.. That would be earth shattering

 

Call up Hideo Kojima and make a Metal Gear Solid movie. Now I would pay to see that.

 

you have to pay to see any movie. i don't think lucas is the guy for metal gear. but definetly would be a cool movie, if you got it right. unlike most VG movies

 

He could have done the Monkey Island games into movies but then Pirates of the Carribean came out,which have incredibly similar story with the games.Heck,i would love to see a Monkey Island movie,Lucas wouldn't even need to search for a story or secure the lincences!

I just read a GL interview that said he wanted to to a massive fantasy film. Something huge that the new effects would allow him to do.
Of course, this was before LotR, so I don't know if he would be as interested in it now.

 

I hope does more serial-based stuff. Imagine if Lucas did a 1930s detective story? Or a Western? Or a pirate movie? Or a movie set in Ancient Rome?

Lucas did say that he planned on doing smaller, personal stuff like American Graffiti. I wouldn't be surprised if he made a movie like that only more focused on Rock N Roll than cars.

 

As long as he does what he wants to do, I'll be happy. He's deserved to get to do something other than Star Wars after these last three movies, when Episode III is out, he'll have worked on the Prequels for over a decade.
