What about a post-TRoS Corran? I reckon Rogue Squadron might be set in that period, with an older Wedge recruiting new pilots. Luke seems to mainly be training children from around ten, based on The Rise of Kylo Ren. Maybe Rey's (and Finn's) Jedi will be more open to training adults like Corran.

 

I'm honestly in the camp of take a bunch of Post ROTJ characters and move them post TROS

 

The CSF could be interesting to explore at that time, with Corellia (and everywhere else) dealing with the fallout of the New Republic's demise, and being on their own.

 

I like the model that the Sith ruled the galaxy as a collection of feudal states due to competing Sith Lords.

 

TCW does mention an 'attack' on Coruscant 1000 years ago.

I always took "Galactic" to seperate it from the older Sith Empire.

Kyp could still be a slave on Kessel who escapes and wants revenge.

If they show up anywhere, it'll be in Andor, one would think.

What if Lucasfilm took a bunch of the more popular EU characters yet to be canonised and put them in the same section of the Old Republic timeline so that their stories could cross over?

So you'd have Revan, Mara, Kyle Katarn, Xizor, Nihilus, Starkiller, Durge, etc. all interacting. I know the idea might annoy some, but I could see it happening eventually.

 

I advocate we take a bunch of Post Endor characters and make them post TROS Era characters. So Talon Karrde, Mara Jade, etc etc, all post TROS

(Minus Thrawn who seems to be returning to his OG time area)

 

I'd prefer post-TRoS to be fresh and full of new characters, personally.

 

I mean I would say the same thing about the Old Republic Era too

So...I say let's just see how it plays out and hope for the best ;p


However to get on the topic I've been thinking I think in weird way while Lucas made Plagueis and Bane he didn't make THE CHARACTERS he made TEMPLATES

Lucas made the template of "Sidious Master who wants immortally" but Luceno made the character of Plagueis with his nuances and thoughts and what not.

Same with Bane Lucas made the TEMPLATE of "Sith who made the rule of two" but Karbeshin made the character of Bane.

 

I don’t think there’s any basis for this being a thing that’s even on the cards, do we?

like, I know people will point to Thrawn being in Rebels instead of post-RotJ, but he had appeared around the OT era in stories before (not to mention Outbound Flight connecting him to the PT) and his role in Rebels seems like it was planned to be set up for the traditional post-RotJ setting.

True, but the Old Republic era covers millennia. If they were to go all in on Legends nostalgia, I'd rather it be in a ten to twenty year period a couple of thousands of years before TPM.

Post-TRoS, I'm assuming, will still be in Rey's lifetime when we get it.

I will be curious to see in general how they streamline the Old Republic Era for as you say it is Millenia, but I assume like High Republic they are gonna wanna focus ons a specific amount of time.

At least where movies are concerned.

 

There's no obligation for them to fill those millennia with lore. In fact, it would probably be better for them if they left most of it alone.

Hopefully it isn't treated as the "Old Republic era" again, but instead gets broken up into much smaller chunks.

 

Well people are gonna wanna see a Old Republic Something eventually like I doubt they won't touch that era ...In fact i would be SHOCKED if they left the Old Republic alone.

 

They'll definitely cover pre-Bane. But I'd prefer it be the "Mandalorian War era", then however long later the "Sith Civil War era", rather than it all being lumped in under the name "Old Republic".

 

Yeah but they'll not waist the chance to show a bunch of Sith one Jedi fighting one another

Or go the route of Sith Empire vs Jedi Rebellion just to go with Empire vs Rebels again

 

I expect Mandalorian Wars are probably where Filoni goes once he’s finished with Ahsoka/Skywalker Saga story. There are enough crumbs in his current stuff show he’s got some interest with that.

Then the conversation becomes how characters like the Exile, Darth Nihilus etc fit into canon, and specifically the official Lucas inspired perception of how the Force works.

 

And lets not add the RPG sourcebooks that just wholesale say the Great Hyperspace war happened
