For me, it's almost certainly going to be the PS5, as it's the one that has most of the titles I'm excited for.

yes, i was one of the few people who had one and there are a few games i've been missing ever since. also a bunch of weird ones i never got to try and still want to. i want to set up a twitch stream and play through all 175 titles that were made for the system if possible.

I upgraded my PC a month or so ago so I'm covered for any XBox game I may want as they often come out on PC a little further down the line

I've just dropped £600 on a PS5 with Disk plus an extra controller, Spider-Man and Sackboy


I'm pretty prepared for this next generation of gaming

 

I may eventually get a Series X if Fable and Avowed are any good. My PC probably won't run those.

 

PS5 now, maybe Switch Pro next year, XB maybe when it has a system selling worthy exclusive.

Since the 360/ps3 generation, most of my buddies I play with online have been on xbox, so I've been a fairly loyal xbox serf ever since. But I wasn't happy with this last generation, Sony definitely had the better lineup of exclusives, and better hardware to boot. Now that most big games will have cross platform multiplayer, there's nothing really holding me onto xbox. But I'm probably going to wait a year or so before deciding. I'm also going to he paying attention to whether xbox makes a decently priced VR package, as the new Star Wars Squadrons game could be a bellwether.

 

A PS5, eventually. I wouldn't mind buying it this year but its not a priority (if there's any supply). Almost definitely by the time God of War comes out.

 

I am getting both of them and maybe the PlayStation 3 60gbs system to play the PS3 games all the way down to PS2 and PS originals since that modal is backwards compatible.

PS5 is backwards compatible for PS4 but unfortunately not for PS3s all the way down to PS2 and PlayStation originals.


I am also getting Xbox series x and that has better backwards compatibility and there is rumors circulating that you might be able to play PC games on it because it might have a windows mode.

If not Oh well, I will still buy it anyways.

 

You might want to consider if the older games you want to play are available on either PS Now or the Vita. I have both of those and they cover most of the PS1, PS3, and PS3 games I'd want to replay between them.

That is, as long as I get the Mass Effect trilogy remastered on PS4 or PS5. Which looks likely according to rumors.
