What obscure TV theme or commercial jingle can you still remember from years gone by?

Time to dredge up those old ( sometimes embarassing ) memories of TV show theme songs and obscure commercials.

Here's mine...

"You run...You slide...You hit the jump, and take a dive!" ( From an old commercial for a slip 'n' slide thing with a pool at one end, inside the jaws of a plastic crocadile. )

Or how about the old school McDonalds theme?

"For a great time and a great taste, McDonalds..."

 

"Rice-aroni -- That San Francisco Treat!

 

"Two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickle, onion on a sesame seed bun!"

 

"Honeycomb's BIG! Yeah yeah yeah! It's not small! (cue Andre the Giant) No no no!"

"It's a honey of an 'O' it's Honeynut Cheerios!" (Do they still use that one?)

"Kentucky Fried Chicken, the real taste of livin'!"

"The bell rings *something something, ryhmes with ready*, it is lunch time already. For you and for me, it is Chef Boyardee!"

"Dine, dine, dine, DINOGHETTI!"

And for the McChicken, (Picture a hamburger cardboard container opening and shutting to the words):

Buck! Buck! Buck! Sitxy Nine!! (And then a chorus of them) Cheap! Cheap! Cheap!"

That's all I can think of off the top of my head. I can't for the life of me remember the damn Lucky Charms original jingle, other than that it ended with "And purple horseshoes!"

Of course, everyone's still playing Copland, so it's no wonder I remember it.

And it's not exactly obscure either. But I remember it, and that's what counts, right?

Seoul is the capital of South Korea, and Perth is a city in Austrailia.



And I do remember a part where they say "maili to bali, ohio, whaoo!"

And "her itinareay's loaded with moving violations," but I don't know where those go.

maybe the "mali to bali etc." was from the actual show, the one i posted is from the game show they used to have. i dont have those lines on my copy of the song...

wow...this is a trip thru memory lane!

here are a few I remember....

* "Meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow" -Chorus of cats for some cat food

* "New Energizaaa! Oi!" - Some australian dude on a commercial for Energizer batteries.


* "It'll hurt if I swallow.....It'll hurt if I swallow...It'll hurt if....MOM!!!" - A little girl with a sore throat for some cough medicine.

* The McDonalds 80's theme song that listed all of thier menu items. I only remember the first few items on the list, but the melody still rings clear.

* The Marty Moose/Wally World theme song, sung by the Griswalds on National Lampoon's Vacation.

* The 80's commercial for the game - Connect Four. For some reason, I'm always reminded of this commercial because of the generic kid at the end of the commercial that jumps up and says with extreme enthusiasm, "I WIN!!!"

* The 80's commercial for the game - Battleship. For some reason, I'm always reminded of this commercial because of the generic kid at the end of the commercial that says in extreme dramatic fashion, "You sunk my battleship!"

* The "Under 50 Bucks" Atari commerical.

* The 80's commercial for the game - Operation. The melody is stuck in my head, but I can't remember the words for the life of me. I believe that this commercial also had the kid at the end that says with extreme enthusiasm, "I WIN!!!"

* The Pabst Blue Ribbon Theme song, which I remember more from the movie "Midnight Madness" than for the actual commercials.

* "Mikey likes it! He really really likes it!" - A little boy who is assumed to have very high standards when it comes to breakfast cereals. I don't think this commercial had a jingle, but the commercial is unforgettable.

* "Crazy Eddie's prices are INSANE!!!" - Made me laugh everytime.


These are the silly things that I think about when girls make the correct assumption that I'm not really paying any attention to them.

Good call on the "slip and slide", "honeycombs", and "chef boyardee" commercials. Those are so memorable.
