New Porcupine Tree! (After 12 years...) It's on the heavy side, but it's still very good.
Gotta love Florence and the Machine, Jedi Prophet! Thanks for sharing!
Well, someone should have used Hopeless by Breaking Benjamin as a Doc Ock tribute a long time ago. Very fitting.
The Warsaw Uprising against the German occupying forces started on 1 August 1944 facing the Soviet Operation Bagration. About 40,000 soldiers of the Polish Home Army (Armia Krajowa) under General Count Tadeusz Komorowski (1895-1966) tried to liberate the Polish capital city before the Red Army's invasion. A victorious upheaval against the German occupiers was meant to be a symbol of a strong and prospective independent Poland. After fierce house-to-house fightings in the streets of Warsaw in the first days the Poles controlled substantial parts of the city, when gradually German SS and police units under General of the SS Erich von dem Bach-Zelewski (1899-1972) gained the upper hand. The British Royal Air Force supported the Poles with weapons and supply goods. On 2 October 1944 the Polish formations had to ground arms. About 180,000 Poles, mostly civilians, had lost their lifes. Especially SS and police units committed numerous massacres. Finally German formations destroyed the majority of the nearly deserted capital.
