What toys/figures did you NEVER see in stores?

I used to have to use the internet or other scalper venues to find toys that I literally never, ever saw in stores...lately, I've just been too broke or too lazy to bother, but it still ticks me off that there are so many great toys that I literally never, ever had the chance to buy at "regular" prices...and I'm not talking simply about exclusives, either....

off the top of my head, here is an incomplete list of stuff I've NEVER seen in real life...and this is coming from a guy who used to visit various toy stores anywhere from 15 to 20 times a WEEK.

I've been pretty lucky over the years finding some of the 'rare' items, but there are a few figures that I never saw in stores. Off the top of my head they are:

you didnt see the c3po and r2 set? they were EVERYWHERE the week lotr TTT came out

 

Guess I'm lucky to have seen most, but some were in collector shops that want buku bucks.

Have not seen the Ackley yet.

 

I've never Seen the Following At Retail:

-Any of The Expanded Universe Figs from POTF2
-The R2 / 3PO Holiday Set
-Ephont Mon
-Most of the Final Figs of the Ep.I Line


For some reason, those Figures never showed up at Retail, though they all did show up at Comic Book and Colectable Shops for Twice the amount later on.

Anyhoo, half the figures you guys mention are pegwarmers here (like Palpatine, Teemto, and Clone Pilots were overflowing at TRU for about 2 weeks).

But basically I've seen everything (even though I only saw Ephant Mon once, and I snatched him up ). I guess it pays to live in a big city like Chicago... Lots of options.

 

Only figures I never saw: R2-B1, TC-14, swimming Jar Jar.

Also had to go online to get Watto's Box. Other than that, seen everything else at least once, but sometimes only one time. I found the clean Biker Scout and R2-D2 with holo Leia once at retail.

 

Well, because I cannot find the Destroyer Droid, and the 2003 are already released and the late 2002 figs (like the Destroyer Droid) will be really hard to find, I'm buying my two destroyer droids online from Brian's Toys. Yes, shoot me, flay me, hang me up to dry, but I'm buying the TPM ones (I like them better) and they're only $6.99 each, which is what they cost in stores when they came out.

 

Sithy. You can get a much better deal at Ebay or Rebelscum for those things. Heck, I can hook you up with some TPM Destroyers...

 

Episode One toothbrush... I am still trying to find one.

Ephant Mon - I have looked high and low to find you. I did get lucky and went into the KB Toys when they were re-stocking. I go there all the time so when they saw me they opened up the new boxes of figures and let me check them out. They have done this in the past for me. They like me because I don't make a mess out the figures when I am digging for the ones. Then after opening the boxes and letting me check them out, they leave the boxes there for other collectors to check out. It is always great to have a good relationship with the local toy man. I got the new Yoda with council chair and the new Destroyer Droid. However, still no Ephant Mon.

 

Roger - are you looking for the 12" Han & Taun Taun? I saw a bunch of them yesterday. Let me know and I will e-mail the location.

 

No, I find tons of the 12" Han & Taun Tauns at various TRUs. By the way, I picked up two Ephant Mons at TRU and I had no idea that they were so fard to find. Do you want me to pick one up for you is I see another one?

I never seen the 12in Han and TaunTaun in TRU but I see the 12in Luke and TaunTaun constantly at TRU.

One figure I have never seen in the stores was Padme Unleashed. Really pisses me off too.

There are still a few GunShips at the local Targets, WalMarts and Toys R Us though.

Just the opposite in the DC area. We have plenty of the 12" Han's but the Republic Gunships seem to have dissappeared about three weeks before Christmas.

 

I am Lucky in that I've Seen most SW Toys at one time or another if not in Chain stores then at Collector shops, BUT! Some of the Hard to find figures like R2/w Holo & Spacetroopers I have seen were at Comic shops for Ridiculous prices!! So I passed & bought online Here's my list
