What was Sidious' true goal for Naboo?

There's no way Maul would have beaten Dooku. I really do not like Dooku at all, i think he's a lame character and darth maul was way way cooler but there's still no denying dooku was much stronger. darth maul killed qui gon jin, but this obi-wan killed maul. dooku beat anakin, then he kicked obi-wan's butt, then he kicked ani's but again, and then he survived against yoda. yoda prolly would have sliced maul like an onion. though maul definitely was a good duelist.

now for the topic question: sidious really didn't want naboo at all. don't you see he's just using all this stuff to get what he wants, which is complete control over the republic? the only reason he got the trade federation to attack naboo was so he could get amidala to coruscant so that she would move for a vote of no confidence in chancellor velorum (sp?) so that he could get himself elected chancellor. so you see the whole thing with naboo was simply so that he could become chancellor.
