Just a thought but what would have happened if the Yuuzhan Vong had won The Battle of Ebaq 9 and destroyed the New Republic fleet there, then killed most of the Jedi Knight's in the system and emerged victorious instead of the New Republic?

It seems like they wanted to invade the Corellian System, taking the five planets in one shot, this would eliminate a major point of resistance in the Core World's and allow them to take the rest of the Galactic Core in due time, as well as the Deep Core systems, and with a victory at Ebaq 9 they would easily be able to focus on Mon Calamari and invade there when they were ready to end the war.

This results in most of the New Republic's military and fleet being decimated, putting the New Republic in a nearly hopeless position, The Imperial Remnant and Hapes Cluster would not be much of a threat after the New Republic got defeated, or The Corporate Sector or the Chiss, the Hutt's were pretty much struggling too, this doesnt leave much resistance for the Yuuzhan Vong.

And then you have to wonder what about Darth Krayt and his One Sith, how would they react to the Yuuzhan Vong winning The Yuuzhan Vong War? They used the Yuuzhan Vong as scapegoat's when they lost the war, with them winning they might have to use them in another way as allies.

The Sith would not do well in a galaxy dominated by the Yuuzhan Vong, they cant easily control them or manipulate them, they cannot sense them in the force, their powers wont affect the Yuuzhan Vong much unless they use force lightning or kill them with lightsabers, its not like Darth Sidious dealing with The Trade Federation at all, or the Yinchorri.

Darth Krayt would not be able to become Sith Emperor if the Yuuzhan Vong had won the war, this would piss him off greatly, having these aliens outside of the force controlling the galaxy and him and his One Sith being forced to deal with them and take orders from them, or have the Yuuzhan Vong hunt the Sith Lord's down as a threat when the two sides did not like each other.

The goal of the Yuuzhan Vong wasnt enslaving, it was completely destroying. Literally everyone would be dead

Arguably, they did want to enslave the inhabitants of the galaxy. I remember numerous comments about them trying to remake the entire galaxy to their way of life which including transforming the way of thinking by the inhabitants of the GFFA. It wasn't a simple case of extermination like the Yevetha wanted. They instead desired to alter the way of thinking, belief system and use of technology if I recall correctly.

Anyway, not sure if we can speculate on alternate universe scenarios. In the war, there were a couple of things that led to the Vong's downfall. One was the massive losses they took in the taking of Coruscant. So much so that the Vong had to alter their strategy and went on the defensive. This was further sealed by the losses of their major fleets in Ebaq 9. Those two forced the Vong on the defensive and having to deal with the hit and run tactics of the GA. The Unifying Force showed that the GA though were really struggling at this point and if it weren't for Zonama Sekot appearing above Coruscant than they may have overrun the defences around Mon Calamari.

Had the Vong won, I don't think the conflict would have stopped. The last threat posed by the GA might have ended but the Vong would still have taken years to conquer the galaxy and had to face the down the Imperial Remnant, Hapes Consortium, Chiss Ascendancy individually. Plus, whatever resistance cells had formed... on top of that, I think they would have to contend with the Killik Colony that was going to emerge from the Unknown Regions eventually...

Had the Vong won the war, it would no longer be called Star Wars. All sentient life indigenous to the GFFA would be dead or enslaved. There is no interesting plot turns once the Vong win. That's just one reason the NJO was such a brilliant series. Everything was on the line. EVERYTHING.

The Vong would have been killed off eventually if they had "won". Let's face it- there is some really nasty stuff in the GFFA. If things got really, really bad, someone (regardless if it were the Bothans, Imperials or Chiss) would find a way to genocide the Vong regardless of civilian casualties inflicted.

It might be Alpha Red, it might be a nanovirus, it might be something less specific, but someone would use it.

yeah, they were seriously weakened by the end of the war, so even if they beat the GA, the Chiss at the very least would have probably finished them off, one way or another...

What about the One Sith and Darth Krayt? Would Krayt ally himself with the Yuuzhan Vong and use them? or would he and his Sith get caught up in the war and be forced to fight the Yuuzhan Vong along with everyone else?

It seems like all the One Sith have to do is test the waters, send a few Sith Lords to the Yuuzhan Vong and reveal themselves as Sith Lords and say that they hate the Jedi, then wait and see if the Yuuzhan Vong are willing to ally with them or if they will try to destroy the Sith too, remember the Yuuzhan Vong said at one point during the war that if there were any of these Sith left they might have an ally in this galaxy, so the Sith revealing themselves in a peacefull manner to someone might be a smart move, if they are attacked they can destroy the Yuuzhan Vong and leave, if they are accepted they can negotiate with them and report by to Darth Krayt, using the Yuuzhan Vong as pawns to destroy the Jedi Order while regaining power, they can always unleash alpha red against the Yuuzhan Vong after they have served their purpose, after all they wouldnt become a slave race that the Sith can control, unlike the Nagai.

Not really sure if the likes of the Chiss or anyone could have defeated the Vong had they won the war. Personally, if the Vong won, they would have had tot take years to gather enough strength to take over the remaining worlds. So, I think it would have been a bit of a stalemate... the Vong being too weak to recontinue their crusade until their power was gathered once more and the inhabitants of the galaxy being too fractured to provide too much of a united front. I don't think even the One Sith would have enough strength to do anything since I think they would only had been recently formed by Krayt.

Really, the two big things that would be a problem for them I think would be the Killiks in the Unknown Regions and perhaps Centerpoint if it became operational again. I do personally agree with Luke that if bioweapons or nanoviruses were going to be used would have led to the Vong unleashing their own plagues leading to a MAD scenario.

Well to be frank the Yuuzhan Vong abandoned a planned invasion of the Corellian System in favor of crushing the GA at Ebaq, if they had won that battle they might have invaded the system afterwards and occupied it, because with a huge GA defeat it would the system ripe for conquest, the Corellians would be afraid and they would know that little or no backup would arrive to save them, and the Yuuzhan Vong get 5 planets out of the deal and take a major center of the Core Worlds, making it easier to take the rest of the core in the future, so Centerpoint would have been destroyed, although they might have tried to use it again to fight and risked everything.

Indeed, I remember that. Tsavong Lah wanted to take the fleets for Corellia and crush them. Centerpoint was down though I don't think they knew that and pretty much all the senate level collaboration was gone with Viqi Shesh exposed. Funnily enough, if Shimrra went for Corellia, they would have probably have inflicted a huge blow on the GA. I mean sure, they would not have hit against the GA leadership but they would have taken a major core world, eliminated a superweapon and deprived the Republic of the Corellian shipyards.

But Nom Anor was in a panic since he believed the Vong were going to be doomed unless they made a decisive blow as he learnt there was no more knowledge in the Eighth Cortex so he thought the GA would out-tech them.

A Yuuzhan Vong victory at Corellia or Mon Calamari would totally break the GA. The remnants therein would be driven into rebel tactics and warlordism. Other powers might decide to negotiate with the Vong or gear up for Armageddon.

It would be truly horrific casualties in the quadrillions, the sacrifices and pain would be grimdark level terrible.

I imagine a full conquest of the southern galactic quadrant would stil have taken time though and full conquest of the known Galaxy would have extended the war at least to a decade in length. Conquering the Chiss and any powers left in the unknown regions means a war that might not end until 40 ABY at the very latest.

Can we not bump threads that haven't had a response in over five years, please? Especially "What if?" threads that couldn't even sustain a single page of discussion the first time, around.
