Here in the states, it's cold. February cold. Which means it's time to attack the inexplicably large backlog that I've accumulated. ITT you can share yours, too! Even if you live in more civilized lands.

Steam, PS4, XBone, Sega Genesis, whatever floats your boat.

I'll start with my PS one:
    Watch Dogs 2
    Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus
    Titanfall 2
    AC: Syndicate
    AC: Unity
    Ghost Recon: Wildlands
    Monster Hunter: World
    Battlefield 1
    Dead Rising 4
    Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor
    Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
    Nioh
    Just Cause 3
    Telltale Guardians of the Galaxy

These are just the ones that I've put very little, or no time into. If any of these games should be moved to the top, tell me. Share and enjoy.

Games I own, but will probably never play:
    Banjo Tooie (N64)
A bunch of PS1, PS2 and GameCube titles (The X-Files, Enter the Matrix, Second Sight, Devil May Cry, Onimusha and more...)
Pretty much the entire Wii catalogue. My younger brother had ours chip modded, which made me so spoiled for choice that I eventually played almost nothing on it. I had so much to choose from, I never knew what to play. I will say, however, that ExciteBots and Boom Blox do not get nearly the recognition they deserve! :p

Games I might get to eventually:
    Rayman (PS1)
    Jackie Chan's Stuntmaster (PS1)
    Fahrenheit (PS2)
Deus Ex (PS2) Human Revolution (PS3) Mankind Divided (PS4)
Splinter Cell Trilogy, Double Agent and Blacklist (PS3)
The Walking Dead: A New Frontier
    Batman: The Telltale Series
    seasons 1 & 2
    The Orange Box (PS3)
    Red Dead Redemption
    L.A. Noire
    Monkey Island
1, 2 and Tales From Monkey Island
    Grim Fandango
    Max Payne 3

Next up on my to-do list after I finish Ni No Kuni is to play through the God of War trilogy to prepare for the new one. At some point I'd also like to play through some of the Zelda games I missed over the years, namely the HD remakes of Wind Waker and Twilight Princess on the Wii U, though I'm in no rush to do so. Same with Super Mario 64 and Sunshine.

The Technomancer, Risen 1-2, the Gothic series of games, Dead Space 1-2, Rebel Galaxy, and the newest Walking Dead season from Telltale. Some others too, but these are probably on top of the list of games I've been meaning to play at some point, but just haven't found the interest or time for.

Now that I've finally got GBA games up and running on my SNES Classic (an extremely lengthy and frustrating ordeal for a tech dummy such as myself), I intend to finally getting around to playing Metroid: Zero Mission. I've wanted to get into the Metroid series for ages, having only dabbled in Super Metroid here and there, and I'll be making that happen soon. All goes well, I'll move on to Samus Returns on the 3DS, and then eventually dive into Super Metroid properly.

Samus Returns strays quite far from the original artistic vision of The Return of Samus. Playing the original game in its original black and white claustrophobic Game Boy aspect ratio might be a lot to ask of a modern audience, so I understand why anyone would prefer the remake, but you should know going in that it won't feel like the original in neither gameplay nor narrative.

As long as it takes place between the original Metroid/Zero Mission and Super Metroid chronologically, I'm fine with that. :p

Holy ****, I can't even begin to list my backlog. Even when I do have time to play games, I usually end up spending it playing some multiplayer games instead of going through my backlog. And to make matters worse, there's a whole bunch of old games I want to get around to replaying. It's a good thing I haven't been paying attention to Steam and haven't seen anything interesting lately, because at this rate I'll be dead from old age before I get through a quarter of my backlog.

Like The2ndQuest, I've got decades and systems that I haven't caught up on and I'm not sure if I'll ever get to some of those. In terms of what I've gotten in the last couple of years, I've either dabbled a bit or haven't even finished my play through.

    NES: "Wizards & Warriors".
    DS Lite: "Final Fantasy III".
Wii: "New Super Mario Bros Wii".
Wii U: "New Super Mario Bros U".
WiiWare: "Final Fantasy IV: The After Years", "Castlevania Adventure: The Rebirth", "Mega Man 9" and "Mega Man 10".
Virtual Console: "Castlevania: Dracula X-Rondo Of Blood", "Castlevania: Dracula X (SNES)", "Simon's Quest", "Double Dragon", "Double Dragon II", "Donkey Kong", "Donkey Kong Jr.", "Donkey Kong Country", "Pac-Man", "Super Punch-Out!!", "The Legend Of Zelda: A Link To The Past", "Mega Man 7", "Mega Man X", "Mega Man X-2", "Mega Man X-3", "Super Mario 64 DS" and "Super Mario Advance 3: Yoshi's Island".

Plus I'm still backed up on other games that I haven't finished from years earlier. Though in the case of WiiWare, I was getting everything I wanted before the Wii Shop Channel stopped taking money and closed all together.

    You'll enjoy them.

Like many of you, I have an obscene backlog. It really bothered me until early 2016, when I cataloged all my games and sold anything I was sure I wouldn't play or had completed and knew I wouldn't play again.

Then, I put together a Games Library list and used the glory of howlongtobeat to work out roughly how long it would take to finish each game. I've been quite vigilante in keeping it up to date - though the "Immediate" section is quite fluid based on my whims!

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age

Why get the RPG games if you can't commit to them? I'm big with the Final Fantasy games for the most part; but I haven't even bought XV as of yet because I've been engaged in other single-player games like HZD and Nier Automata. What's nice about waiting is that the complete edition (that includes all DLC) will be available at a good price.

If we're talking just games we own:

    Mass Effect 1, 2, 3 (Replay)
    Morrowind (Replay)
    Oblivion
    Skyrim (Replay)
    DuckTales Remastered
    Tales of Monkey Island
    Full Throttle Remastered
    Grim Fandango Remastered
All the Sam and Max games
    Inquisitor
    Xenoblade Chronicles
    The Legend of Legacy
    The Last Story

Including games I don't own, but will almost definitely play at some point:

    Divinity Original Sin II
    Tyranny
Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the 3rd
Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel
Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel II
South Park: The Fractured But Whole
    Mass Effect Andromeda

There are also plenty of games I've picked up during Steam sales or that are sitting on my Steam and GOG wishlists that I may or may not get around to. I also still haven't gotten myself a Nintendo Switch yet. And there are another half dozen or so games I've backed on Kickstarter or Fig.

    I better get started.

    Amazing.
