Its my personal opinion that watching a minor draw attention to herself from older guys isnt something that is healthy to the community and gets really annoying afterwhile.

So calling people jailbait, starting a Comms thread, repeatedly mentioning by names the "guilty" parties, and at one point even posting one of their pictures doesn't draw even more attention to them?

And if protecting these girls is the goal of your crusade here, calling them jailbait probably falls somewhere between actively promoting their pictures and doing nothing in terms of productivity.

Calling beezel "creepy" is a virtual cottage industry in the JCC. If "creepy" is kosher, "jailbait" should be as well. After all,

Being the mod mentioned in the first post, I should probably chime in. IMO, the term "jailbait" implies intention on the part of the younger person to deliberately entice older men into illegal activities. Hence, calling someone "jailbait" is essentially saying that they want to attract older men, which isn't a very nice thing to say about a person, especially when you don't have a whole lot of supporting evidence for your claim. That's why I warned against its use. It's not a banned term, nor will it be, but if it is determined that you are harrassing a user by calling them jailbait when they have stated that they find it offensive then you can be punished for it. Frankly, it worries me a great deal that you think girls should be happy to be labelled that way.

 

So you're saying that any girl under 18 should not be allowed to post their photos because some pervy old guy might look at them? How does that make sense? It's not the girl's fault if she posts a completely innocent picture and some sixty-year-old mouth breather makes an idiot out of himself drooling over it.

And besides, these guys that are making 'I'd hit that!' comments after seeing these photos don't sound flirty, or suave, or cool... they just sound creepy. Not to mention desperate. I don't think I'm going out on a limb here to say that the girls receiving these comments are not exactly enticed.

 

ATY, that's just a little....creepy. I'd rather have stock in your grim reaper thread. Much more entertaining and would contain the power I need to dominate everyone individual JCC'er with my own thoughts and morality. I didn't even know this whole thing was going on...and I don't even know if I should be posting in here...

Just so you know, Ostrich and I are not out to "entice" anybody...we don't post our pictures thinking, "Hey, let's see how many guys want to have sex with us!" We are not trying to get any guy into our beds or anything like that. We aren't trying to get the pervs going! They go by themselves! I don't want anyone to go to jail! I'm not some evil wench who tries to get guys to go to jail by posting innocent pictures! And when we take the pictures, we don't try to be "sexy" or "hot" or whatever...well, we did once, and we just looked really stupid trying to be sexy so now we just simply smile at the camera.

I had no idea that posting my pictures was like, a bad thing. Or that flirting was horrible. I'm just joking around when I flirt and all, okay? And last time I checked, posting pics and flirting was not against TOS.

And though it's been said, I must reiterate...we are not posting porn! We are fully clothed! We barely even show cleavage!

We want nothing to do with them. Yet still they keep posting their pics.

You never told us you wanted nothing to do with us. And if you really don't want anything to do with us...that is up to you. We don't post our pics to spite you or anything.

Ha, this thread seems to be a thinly veiled excuse for being extremely hurtful to both Ostrich and myself. It's not that we don't care about your "concern" but the way you are going on about it....it's very rude.

Ok, so I blew it out of proportion a bit. I shouldnt of ranted as much. Although for the life of me I cant fathom why someone would be more upset about being called jailbait then to constantly be told Id hit it by 30 year olds. Maybe thats just me.

Look, in all honesty, I am not all that offended when some people call me jailbait. I take it good-naturedly, like it's a joke because I know that I'm not trying to get the guy into jail by sleeping with him and therefore, I haven't given out my phone number to any person who's said, "I'd hit it" and I haven't given out my address either.

What I *am* offended by, however, is the attitude attached to people who call me jailbait, not the term itself. It's sort of insulting me a bit because it involves the idea of me having sex with an older guy, therefore it's almost calling me a slut. Also, sometimes I don't like being called jailbait because it's basically another form of "oh em geez ur a n00b get out" and makes me feel young/stupid and all. And, to add, I have protested against all the "I'd hit it" comments before.

In conclusion, my skin has been thickened to the jailbait and I'd hit it-esque comments. Now I JOKE back and FLIRT and stuff. Though it may seem like I'm offended sometimes, I'm really not...it's just a part of my flirting style to go into a "hissy fit". But, like I said before, if you don't mean jailbait as a flirty joke and are actually trying to insult me and tell me I'm some slut, I don't appreciate it one bit but have now come to realize that people will get their knickers in a twist over nothing.

Now this right here is an example to back up Beezel. I'm totally in the crowd saying he's going off the deep-end, but Yane posts that "she doesn't look good naked." And gets the team going off on compliments.

Comments like that are fishing for compliments. When a user does that, they usually get them. So in this case, we have users then saying they bet a minor looks good naked. That's creepy too.

Theres a difference between a flirt and a tease, too. Yane, you kinda opened yourself up for any comments in this one. But the thing is, Yane ain't complaining! So if she can take it like a (wo)man, then at least she isn't opening the can of sardines then complaining of the stink.
