I did not include the Batman/Superman, Batman Beyond and Justice League "movies" because they weren't really movies, just 2-part episodes from their respective animated series edited into one 1-hour "movie".
As for my favorite... I'd have to go with Mask of the Phantasm, closely followed by Return of the Joker (haven't seen the uncensored version, though) and Tim Burton's Batman.
I have to go with Tim Burton's Batman from 1989. I haven't seen the animated movies though.
BATMAN RETURNS by a hair. I thought the performances, particularly Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman, were great. And the middle sequence-when Batman confronts the Penguin and the Catwoman in the center of Gotham-is the highpoint of the series for me. The first one is good too, though Batman is nowhere near as interesting as the Joker and the action sequences were too clunky.
I love the animated movies, but I don't rewatch them the way I do the two Burton films.
Well unfortunatly, I haven't seen Burton's Batman yet, so I voted for Return of the Joker. Joker's last words are classic
I just have to choose the good old original Batman movie. It's just so stupid at some points so it's really a masterpiece.
Batman Returns because Catwoman is my favorite villian mainly and I find it very entertaining. I have never seen the cartoon movies though.
You can't beat the old-school Batman movie with Adam West and Burt Ward.
I went with Mask of Phantasm too. It's one of those "another chapter" type of stories, but it's just too much better than the live action movies.
The '89 one
Ur missing the best one, The Batman/Superman movie...but as u said it was more like an ep. so other than that Return of the Joker is my fav. The Joker's soooo cool. I hate all the live action movies. They are so horrible. They do not deserve to be called Batman movies.
I've only seen Batman and Batman Returns, but I prefered Batman Returns, as it was so dark and bleak, and just seemed very unique and fresh. Plus, it had Michelle Pfeiffer in, so that helped a lot .
A three way tie!
Batman Returns: Catwoman, very dark atmosphere, Catwoman, freaky Penguin, Catwoman, loved the music, Catwoman, Batman's cool 'electronic Batarang'...and did I mention Catwoman
Batman Mask of Phantasm: Superb use of flashbacks (the only other better use of flashbacks IMHO would be in Joss Whedon's 'Angel' series), the opening music was just...wow!!! And the best romance storylines in all of the comic films Mark Hamill's Joker is the best!
Batman Beyond Return of The Joker: Hamill does it again, the new Batman is quite cool, the old Batman "still got it" to put it in his own words. Also check out the flashback about how the Joker tortured Tim Drake (Robin)...impressive!
I like most of the movies.
I've always been quite fond of Batman Returns.
Burton's '89 Batman.
All of them a great. I can't wait for Batman Beyond.
I really loved Jim Carrey as the Riddler even though the real riddler is much less over the top.
I had to go with Batman Forever on this one.
I'm shocked that Batman & Robin has gotten 4 votes. [face_shocked]
Batman & Robin may have been stupid but it certainly was hilarious.
My vote goes to Batman Returns because I just love the dark and gothic atmosphere that made Gotham City was it was in the film. Plus, Danny Elfman's score stands out as better than his score for the first to me.
The original was funny, but who can vote against sexy cat woman, and fat penguin? meown

Batman without a doubt. But I did love Batman Returns, Michelle Pheiffer was an awesome Catwoman. But Batman and Robin, that was just embarrasingly bad.
