Not every movie was meant to have sequels. They should have stopped after the first Batman. Michael Keaton was the best Bruce Wayne.

Batman (1989). To this date, I still think it's the best comic-book movie adaption. Batman Returns is still one of my favorite sequels. You can't beat Michael Keaton as Batman, or Christopher Walken playing a "villian".

I enjoyed Batman Forever quite a bit actually. My only complaint was that it differed quite a bit from the first two.

Finally, I don't think Batman & Robin is a terrible movie. It has entertaining action and impressive CG, but the dialogue, acting, and directing was quite bad IMO. Although I did find the scene between Bruce Wayne and Alfred where Clooney says: "I love you old man", to be quite touching. I just wish there were more moments like this in the movie.

I think the biggest problem about B&R was that Tim Burton didn't have a role in making it.

    Batman(1989).

A friend of mine has a theory that if you watch Batman and Robin and then any other movie that other movie will automatically seem like Oscar winning material.

The Bat credit card? That was just too lame. My friend also said that if he has that card then some credit card company has his identity somewhere.

My friend imagined Batman calling up the credit card company, and someone from the company asking for his name. He would say Batman, then they would ask for his real name. He would reply with "ummm.... Clark Kent!"

I voted for batman. Batman and Batman Returns are the best.
Tim Burton and Danny Elfman, work well together with music and imagery.
I can't see anyone else doing the score for Batman.

Batman and Robin is my least favorite. I probably like the first Batman the best.

Loved George Clooney as Batman, loved Uma as Poison Ivy, even loved Alicia Silverstone as Batgirl.

Arnold as Freeze killed the movie. They gave him way too much screentime and his overinflated ego killed the film. The bad guy is NOT the main character in these films

Batman Returns, followed closely by Batman 89. Keaton has still to date been the best Batman ever.

I feel pretty strongly on this one..
    Batman Returns.. eek!
    Batman Forever.. eeh
    Batman & Robin.. eek!
    The original Batman.. eek!
All the others are cartoons.. not as much effort as the real thing

Batman(1989) starring Michael Keaton is THE BEST of the Batman movies!

Well I count Batman Forever and Batman and Robin in a whole different "universe" as compared to the dark realistic Tim Burton two.

Tie between the REAL Batman flicks, the two that Tim Burton did: Batman and Batman Returns.

    Batman Begins
    Batman Forever
    Batman
    Batman Returns
    Batman and Robin
    Batman (from way back when)

The top spot could change come this summer, of course.

Batman Forever, and Batman and Robin were both horrible movies. The two Tim Burton Batman movies were the best.

Both Tim Burton movies are great, but I went with Batman Returns because I think it is a slightly better movie that the Batman movie in 1989, even though Jack is amazing as the Joker.

Batman Begins, but I suspect that The Dark Knight will claim the top spot when it is released.
