That sounds a lot like his Trek movie scores.

 

This was his first big movie I believe. I reckon he figured "No one will watch this as its a bit rubbish, but this score is ace. I'll just use it again... No-one will know". There is a track called 'Shad's pursuit' which really sounds like Khan.

Just about all of John Carpenter's themes. Getting to see him perform them live has been the highlight of my year (so far).

I've always particularly loved Ennio Morricone's opening theme for The Untouchables.

 

Danny Elfman's Batman theme.

 

Just seen Under the Skin and the music in that movie is phenomenal. You want nightmares while you're awake? This is for you.

A lot of animated films have great songs, especially Disney movies because they have so much money to spend

 

Jurassic Park 1 is another good one. Not just the iconic boom ahhs at the beginning but the frenzied action music afterwards too.

 

One of my favorites is the opening for the first Home Alone movie, also an underrated soundtrack from Williams. I love how it has almost a eerie feeling to it which you don't see in Christmas movie themes often.

 

spiderman 1,2,3 music. especially the theme song that opens the movies. absolutely beautiful score!

i also love the 'man of steel' theme song

 

I have to agree with Jurassic Park! One of the best film series!

Also, a massive fan of Ghostbusters, so that theme has to be a top one.

The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. I can't think of another movie where I was so instantly engaged after only a couple of minutes, and the subtle and mysterious theme was a big part why.
