When did Obi Wan ever meet the Duchess Sateen? (Speculative)

I'm sure by now many of you have seen the clone wars season 2 trailer, and many of you are, like me, wondering who the duchess sateen is.
I am wondering when did Obi Wan ever meet her? I always thought he had a thing for Siri Tachi.

For Anakin to not recognize sateen, Obi Wan must have met her before Phantom Menace. Being Twenty Five at that time, Obi Wan has a couple of years to play with for meeting her. However, there is always Siri coming back into my mind. They were always good friends, and she even survived until the second last year of the Clone Wars. I think that if she ever found out about Obi Wan's little Sateen affair, she'd be pretty mad.

When did these two ever meet? Just curious, really.

NOTE. By the way, if you haven't seen it yet, look up the sneak peek at CW season 2, the animation is looking much sharper this time round.

 

Having read Sateen's wooki entry, I just want to extend my deepest apologies to anyone who actually makes it a point to retcon together all these divergent threads of continuity. Godspeed, you brave souls.

Full stop ... has it even been confirmed that Obi and Sateen had a "thing"? Or is that just speculation based on Anakin's "girlfriend" line in the trailer? I'm still trying to be optimistic about this....

 

At the very least, there was probably a little foreplay.

 

Ah, the ongoing continuity nightmare continues. The series still has plenty of good stories, and I'm looking forward to these episodes when they air (better this than bounty hunters), but still, giving Obi-wan a sorta girlfriend like this just leads to headaches.

And glancing at her Wookieepedia page... um, I hope someone's just been missing around with that page.

Hm, let's see, I don't think Anakin recognized her, so he wasn't there, so probably from when Obi-wan was still Qui-gon's Padawan. There's only been brief clips, but is it me or does she look kind of old for Obi-wan? Or maybe its just the aristocratic clothes. I really doubt they'll ever acknowledge Sari in the series, but still, maybe Obi-wan was on a diplomatic mission to her planet before, or something.

It could just be Anakin teasing, but then again, Anakin's not an idiot, so its possible/likely he's just picking up on the subtext of their conversation. Maybe there is something, maybe there isn't, but they're seen together in quite a few scenes (including Obi-wan about to defend her against some Mandalorians, which should make for an awesome fight scene, and one that I hope Obi-wan wins).

I do wonder if Obi-wan will ever snipe at Anakin about him and Padme though if Anakin keeps joking. Oh well, should make for some funny scenes in the series at least.

I didn't watch the series for ages, refusing to concern myself with it as I new it was playing havoc with continuity, unfortunately then I did watch it and actually really enjoyed some of the episodes (others however were terrible, but still) and so now I actually want it to somehow fit into continuity. With no idea how they're gonna do it.

 

Let's not forget that Obi Wan Kenobi was in his mid-to-late twenties when he took over Anakin's apprenticeship. There's really not that much of a problem with him having a couple of infatuations. Qui Gon actually chided him about the wife of an ex-mobster I believe.

Plus, we know Obi Wan occasionally went on Solo Missions (like when he went to destroy the plague) without Anakin.

 

Keep posting that; I want to see how many threads it can be relevant to.

 

So Obi-Wan had a thing for a couple women... big deal. The guy was like any teenage boy, just with a robe and a lightsaber. Hormones people, hormones.

When was the last time you met a teenage boy who had a crush or feelings for only one girl he ever met?

 

I knew I'd seen that line before...

Maybe I've seen the wrong trailer, but Anakin teasing a bumbling Obi-Wan means nothing more than a "flirt interest" for the story arc. Obi-Wan being insecure enough with the situation to allow Anakin to mock him hints at the fact that this is all quite new to Obi-Wan. And the only thing that would surprise me would be if she became a regular on the show (not - gonna - happen, but maybe they like the character and bring her back for another arc sometime).

 

From her line in the trailer "There was a time..." I'd say it's quite a while since they met.

Also, I see no big deal in him having some feelings for her then - considering that Anakin did not deal with his emotions in the right way, it would be high time to show us how this stuff is done right. How does a responsible Jedi act when he falls in love? Obi-Wan is certainly one of the better candidates for such a plotline.

 

Have you seen how many girlfriends Luke has had in the four years he served in the Galactic Civil War? Yeah, i think with that in mind there is more than enough room in Obi-Wan's first 20 or so years of life for him to have had a fling we never heard of. About Siri...well, no attachments remember. Getting jealous would hardly be very jedi.

 

I bet Obi-Wan was like this.

 

So is Obi-Wan's hidden grandson going to show up in FOTJ?

 

I gotta figure the guy, whether when he was a Padawan or when he had one, had to have a solo mission or two sometime. Maybe he made the most of them.

 

Did anyone stop to think that MAYBE Sateen is Siri Tachi undercover?? They almost look exactly the same (based on how Siri was described in the books)...she used to work undercover often and it's possible that she's undercover for Sateen...I know, wishful thinking because I'd love to have Siri in the series.

 

Being dead is the biggest impediment.

 

Is this question about the second season of Clone Wars? Cause, none of us have seen it yet, as it starts on OCT 2?

 

Isn't she not dead for something like 2 more years?

Or is that one of the stories that's being pushed back to the beginning of the war thanks to the show?

 

originally when Secrets of the Jedi was written the battle she died in was only 6 months before Episode 3 so she should still be alive...but I think they've changed the timeline since the series has come out. I know it's just my wishful thinking...ha ha!

 

Deep cover is one thing, but she is running an entire movement, and has been for some time. But we can wait and see if it'll fit or not.

 

Six months before he met Siri. After working for six months they went their separate ways. Obi-Wan went into a slump, until he met Siri.

Just a random guess.

 

While I was never keen on how they offed Siri (mostly because it seemed they didn't know what else to do with her at the time), there's one major problem with that theory:

Siri is Britanny Spears and Satine is Nicole Kidman.

And the larger implications of Obi-Wan being a playboy in the EU have potential. No wonder he wasn't teaching any of this Jedi celibacy nonsense to Luke.
