    I made this up [face_laugh] ...

Good evening, I am news anchor Master-Fett and this is co-anchor Sandy. Tonight, we go inside a story that is new, yet somewhat old. 1999, a year of many blockbuster films was the year that many Star Wars fan had waited for, the return of Star Wars. Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, opened in may 1999 not only adding to the count of Star Wars fans, but also to the count of Star Wars collectors. But that is not what we are talking about tonight. That's right Master-Fett, tonight we find out what happened to all those TPM action figures. After the craze, prices plummeted and too many figures were left behind. Kids sold them, threw them away, and sadly ran them through their lawn mowers. Hey, isnt that what you did MF:D ? I WAS 10, GET OVER IT ! Several Queen Padme dolls have snuck thier way into Barbie lines but otherwise , there was nothing to find. We tracked down a Captin Tarpals ... " thosea kiddies just nosa likin us anymore. all theysa carin bout isa thosies action featies and metal sabies witha movable baldeies". so thats all that there is, TPM toys are gone, who knows when we will next see them.

    *sniff, sniff*

That was beautiful man. It was both heart and gut wrenching at the same time.

    I, I, I'm just speechless.

I'm sorry, I promised myself I wouldn't cry. Please don't look at me.

    Seriously, great job.

Yeah I'll bet there still are some unwanted Episode I figures hanging off the pegs in some stores like Family Dollar. The ones here had them for months and now only have POTJ figures like Plo Koon and Sebulba by the dozens.

I went to the dollar store the other day. I was walking by the toy aisle and a red package caught my eye. There, behind a bag of molded plastic cowboys, hung a single Episode I figure. Darth Maul - Jedi Duel. It saddened me to see him reduced to this, and the irony that this figure, which a young me spent 2 hours searching for the last of on May 4, 1999 - was now a lone figure, collecting dust in a dollar store toy rack. Needless to say, I bought him and he remains hidden away in my room.

I can tell you where all the TPM figures have gone to. There is a comic shop here in town that has a wall full of POTF, TPM, POTJ and Saga figures. I've even seen some figures there that I had heard rumors about and then some I didn't even know they made. One of which is the 3.75" Hologram Sidious.
