Where did Tarkin, Krennic, Vader and Thrawn stand on the Death Star Project?

At that point with Krennic, it was. But with Motti, it was more about the difference in power. Motti believes in destruction as a motivator for ruling with fear. Vader believes that the Force is more capable, given the history of the Sith and what Sidious had done two decades earlier.

He might not have been Grand Moff yet. But it could be a contradiction. The book was written before the script for RO had been finished.

 

And where do Count Dooku and the Geonosians come in all this?

 

They're dead, so they don't count. Before that, the Geonosians were obviously for it as a means to ensure total victory. Dooku's belief must have been in line with Palpatine's and there wasn't much to contradict that.

 

It's just odd to me that Dooku has that hologram of the Death Star in AOTC and everyone forgets about that.

Well, Tarkin, Vader and Krennic all stood and watched the Death Star in action in the observation lounge (to call it that).

As far as I know, Thrawn was never on the Death Star.

Said with tongue firmly in cheek I confess, though that's not easy to convey in a written message! And someone like Krennic would most likely see it as a perfectly legitimate method of recruitment.
