MSW has just leaked the concept art of an early Praetorian Guard that will appear in Mando S3. Makes the whole "LFL is going to retcon the ST" even more silly when Luke's temple already matches with the ST one and we have seen what appears to be a prototype version of Snoke. Let alone the cloning plot and the importance of Grogu's blood across the entire show.

Bold Prediction! Eventually we'll get a movie or TV show called, Star Wars: Lightspeed.

When we eventually do get an origin story about the first Jedi I imagine we'll have a scene in that movie where somebody makes the first lightsaber. I'm guessing whatever enemy the first Jedi is fighting will have weapons/armor that are unbreakable until somebody creates the lightsaber.

 

I hope we DON'T eventually get an origin story about the first Jedi, because I imagine they were monks who realized there was an energy in the universe etc., but it wasn't figured out until much later that it could be accessed for combat powers that could allow do-gooding in the galaxy - and I know that isn't the story we are going to get. I just don't feel like "man gets bit by radioactive midichlorian" leads to the Jedi we know when the Jedi path is so narrow and a fall to the dark side so easy.

I'd like to see it, but only if it aligns with all my pre-conceived notions, which are rather ill-defined, and sure to be shattered when the movie is out.

I think an origin story for the Jedi would make for a good Disney Plus series. Doesn't necessarily need to be a movie but would make for some good content for tv.

 

I think wanting a Jedi origin story movie would be one of those “be careful what you wish for” situations for many viewers.

 

Exactly. What if the origin story they come up with is terrible and we're stuck with a bad in-canon origin story forever?

What if the first Jedi are really unlikable? What if the actor playing that first Jedi can't act there way out of a paper bag?

Not origin story of the first jedi, but of the Jedi order and Galactic Republic. Both 25, 000 years before the Skywalker saga. In Legends Jedi order and Galactic Republic is made 100 years apart, one during the Rakata Empire and one after. I love to see a trilogy of that.
