    You know, I wasn’t super into Star Wars when the prequels were coming out so I completely missed the online hype and discourse at that time…though maybe that’s a good thing. But I do kinda wonder what it was like. I read a tweet recently that said people were speculating that the small bomb implanted in Anakin was somehow going to be responsible for all of his burns.

    Yes I remember those days well.... and that was definitely something we speculated about... although I think we all expected that Episode III would cumulate in a lava pit/volcano.

    It was in Lucas’ original notes that Darth Vader and Obi-Wan had a battle on the side of a volcano and Vader fell in which left him hideously scarred.

    Yup. And not a lot of people know this, but this was based on George's personal experience fighting a duel on a volcano that ended poorly.
