I'd love it to start when Qui Gon becomes his master, then a break and then continuing from Clone Wars over Rebels until Episode IV

Kinda sceptical they'd get into the Satine stuff in live-action. Not because it's somehow non-canon, just...more people will be watching these shows than follow Clone Wars, it's going to seemingly be a bit of a deep-dive for the casuals, a little much to ask.

It depends on how they go, but there's no question that the Story Group provides details and characters that line up with story needs for live action now. With 6-8 hours of Kenobi story, he's going to have to have a bunch of other characters that he'll meet and relationships with them, and while there may or may not be flashbacks, there'll be some nod to the past. If there's a decision to have a romance element at all, especially for a space monk, I'd expect some nod to the only person who ever filled that role for him (and who was a pretty big part of galactic events)... of course, if he's pretty much Yojimbo-ing his way through this, the story wouldn't require that to begin with.

He's going to go to Tosche Station and place an order for power converters with the intention Luke will pick them up and deliver them. Which is why Owen Lars is angry and keeps coming up with excuses for Luke to do other chores.

I've never liked the idea of an Obi-Wan series. He's a hermit who hides from the Empire for 20 years, so it's not like he can make waves on Tatooine. I worry that this will be another case in which the fanbase should've been careful what it wished for (*cough* Indy 4 *cough* sequel trilogy *cough*).

yeah, somewhere in Lucas' notes Old Ben is gonna go to Dex's Diner back on Coruscant to ask him about a saberdart that he found his old dusty chest. Dex will remind him that he did that years ago. Ben will rush back to his hut after feeling disturbance thinking he failed Luke by being absent minded - only to find Ezra dead. Maul missed him by an hour. Maul got fed up waiting for his revenge and didnt want to wait any longer on the hot and coarse sandy Tatooine.

I would like it to be made up of mainly flashbacks of his training and adventures with his Padawan (Anakin) and Clone Wars flashbacks, with more exciting adventures - and Hayden Christensen can join in the fun together with some of the other Jedi). This would be broken up with scenes of him checking up on Luke and things he sees recall Anakin to mind, and that could compel the Padawan adventures flashbacks. The TWC flashbacks would come from other things he does - cleaning his saber, entering bars, or other locals, etc. Also mixed in could be his learning of the ways of the Force Ghost (and becoming quite genius at it, so that he will be able to teach Anakin in the 2 minutes they have at the end of ROTJ :p)

I can't help thinking establishing a rebel cell on Tatooine would be a good way to set up the series.
Have it start much like the Kenobi book does, but a ship is shot down by the Empire resulting in them descending to hunt down the survivors.
Kenobi surreptiously helps the survivors doing his best to remain undiscovered whilst an ally is the one who openly helps lead them to say Mos Eisley and a ship off world.
The problem is that in the hunt the Imperials blow up one homestead too many and perhaps the ire of locals that it causes the establishing of the rebel cell which in itself isn't successful as they're more set up as a money making scheme for a local crime lord or bounty hunter.
They use the scheme to bring out high value targets with an obvious axe against the Empire out of hiding.
Bail Organa however turns up trying to keep a low profile and unlike others recognises Kenobi whilst trying to disguise his reaction some of the rebels even the bounty hunter notices this reaction.
The Bounty Hunter's efforts to investigate Kenobi is how Crimson Dawn gets involved.
Kenobi recognises Maul and THAT makes him take a more direct means of neutralising the threat Crimson Dawn poses on Tatooine.
Except for Bail I think every time someone realises who Kenobi is they get killed almost immediately after or figure it out after being mortally wounded so we have scenes like in Rebels where he tries to console them as they're dying.
First season set up the cast with the ship crashing being a highlight at the end of the first episode with the following 4-5 episodes being about their plight and eventual rescue.
Could have a cameo who do we know was around the time this series starts at?

You mean you want the whole “Obi-wan” show to primarily be a vehicle for showing us more scenes of a completely different character (Anakin)? ;)

Well as long as the writers keep it small and personal, it might work. But if Obi-Wan gets involved with the Empire or the Hutts, it would raise the question of "Why didn't Vader/Palpatine find out where he was?" Both of the Star Trek prequel shows (Enterprise and Discovery) have run into this sort of problem, and ended up giving lame explanations for why they broke continuity.

I want to see Obi-Wan Kenobi stay on Tatooine; but with flashbacks to the Clone Wars, to allow for some action Scenes. But if they can come up with a good reason to have Obi-Wan leave Tatooine on a mission, I would be down with that as well. :)

had that idea or something like the Magnificent Seven. Tatooine after all is a place full of scum and villainy and Kenobi does need to make money.

It's not like you couldn't find a way to build that into the story. Imperial agents finding out about him (or Luke), leading to Obi Wan having to find a way to dispose of these people and keep the knowledge hidden without drawing even more attention to himself coul work out just fine. Getting involved with Jabba should lead to even less issues, unless he is running around slaying villains left and right with his lightsaber.

They kind of played with that type of storyline back in the early 2000s with Darth Maul: Shadowhunter, or whatever it was called. Someone finding out about something, and that knowledge ending up in the hands of someone who could use it, are two different things. This is also true for actual history as well. There also have been countless times were someone was delivered important knowledge but refused to do anything about it (for varying reasons), leading to an outcome that could have been prevented. In some of these cases it was so blindinly obvious that it was important that people today can't really understand how anyone could possibly not act on it.

I'd like to see the TV series explore some of the Western tropes with a Star Wars twist that featured in John Jackson Miller's novel a few years ago.

It's likely that Obi-Wan would be unwilling to leave Tatooine as he needs to watch over Luke, so any stories set on other planets are most likely to be in flashback - or any off-planet adventures will need a strong motivation for him to leave Tatooine.

I wonder if we might see Luke as a boy/young teenager at some point.

    Some ideas for stories:

    - A small group of Imperials stumble across Obi-Wan and he has to prevent them from notifying the chain of command. Does he use violence, or will a mind trick work? Maybe one of the surviving Imperials starts to realise something was strange about their recent desert mission and becomes obsessive in finding out what happened?

    - One or more episodes set in Mos Eisley, including a visit to the cantina, where Obi-Wan learns that "most of the best freighter pilots" can be found there (which would tie into ANH). Maybe he has to smuggle someone or something out of the system, such as a Jedi survivor or a rebel agent.

    - Encounters with Tatooine wildlife - krayt dragons!

    - Appearance from Bail Organa or Qui-Jon, with some kind of mission for Obi-Wan.

    - Flashbacks to the Clone Wars, featuring Ahsoka and the clone troopers, following on from the 2020 episodes of the animated series.

I would like an episode with him skulking about Vader's Mustafar castle... possibly during its construction. The suspense could hinge on whether or not he and Vader will bump into each other. But, the episode could just as easily end with them not.

Kenobi is struggling to master the knowledge and techniques of Force Ghosting and must seek wisdom from Yoda. He secretly travels to Dagobah, planning to gain the knowledge and return immediately. But after reuniting with Yoda on Dogobah and acquiring the knowledge, unexpected events sweep him across the galaxy to a series of different worlds. All new characters and worlds with new challenges. His entire goal in the story becomes to survive the wild events and return to Tatooine and Luke.

This is basically The Odyssey in Star Wars, and Obi-Wan is Odysseus. It's a role the character of Obi-Wan is perfectly suited to play. The series ends with him back on Tatooine overlooking the Lars farm, with the knowledge now mastered.

Something like that. This approach would allow for a sprawling and epic story that could show us more of the GFFA than just deserts.....and without needing to involve Obi-Wan in major political or Imperial events. He could have a side adventure that's both meaningful and exciting while still remaining hidden from Vader and the Empire.
