Dark Knight I guess doesn't offend me to make the list. It is one of the better films of this new millenium and eventually it will slip to the upper twenties and eventually just the top 50. I don't really see why Shawshank is ranked so high though. It's popular and a well made film but I had no idea it had that sort of following.

Any of the Godfather films, I have never understood why people are so enamoured with that simplistic crap!

The Godfather Part II. Not sure why we need two Godfathers on that list. :p

Why does everyone think The Dark Knight should be disqualified? Too new?

I've seen all of these films, and Cuckoo's Nest is definitely not deserving of a Top Ten honor. Several of these probably aren't really, but they're all better than Cuckoo. TDK is definitely better, though still not top 10. The fact that this top 10 doesn't include either Casablanca or Gone with the Wind should make heads turn.

    The Dark Knight

It's just too recent of an entry. Plus, it has my least version of the Joker. Sometimes I wonder how good it would of done if Ledger hadn't died before it came out.

The Dark Knight, the writing is lacking and I despise intentionally shaking the camera for aesthetics.

The only film that really belongs on that list are The Godfather Part I.

Where are Double Indemnity, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Once Upon a Time in the West, Fantasia, It Happened One Night, The Seven Samurai, Gone With the Wind, Casablanca, and, of course CITIZEN KANE?

Now that's a top 10. Order them any way you like.

Don't get me wrong, I loved The Dark Knight, but it hasn't stood the test of time in the iconic sense that the others on that list have. I also think it was riding off the tragic factor to get a lot of the credence it received, but that's just my opinion :p

    The Godfather

I haven?t seen 2, so that one might be a masterpiece, but nothing in the first one impressed me in any particular way.

I voted for Dark Knight. Heath Ledger was brilliant, but Christian Bale and his irritatingly gravelly voice does not deserve to be on that list. This is why I still haven't managed to watch the film all the way through - Bale's voice. Ugh. [face_sick]

    Can I vote for two?
Not a fan of either Godfather II or 12 Angry Man, so now the dilemma of which one to pick. Hmmm, I would probably have to say the one that I dislike the most is... *drum roll* 12 Angry Men.

"The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly". Entirely overrated. It was a good film, don't get me wrong, but it's not top ten good.

Certainly, The Shawshank Redemption. A movie where everyone in prison is actually a better person and less of a criminal than the people that run the prison...
