Red Dragon was actually rather good.... but I?d still say Silence of the Lambs.

I have actually seen all 4, and i think Red Dragon was really good. Of course Silence, but i went with Red Dragon anyways.

 

Silence is the best, in my opinion. Saw three of the four (never heard of Manhunter...) and Silence wins, IMO, hands down. Though Red Dragon was a lot better than Hannibal.

 

Jodie Foster + Anthony Hopkins = AWESOME!

I thought Red Dragon was too self-aware and a bit too much of a Silence re-tread. Lecter was a bit character in the book and the movie comes across as a standard Hollywood thriller.

I liked the way Ridley Scott made Hannibal. He didn't shy away from who the character was and took a mainstream audience on a huge ride of gross out horror. Loved looking at the expressions of all the freaked out audience members.

I've warmed up to Manhunter after seeing the appauling Red Dragon. In my mind, that is as close as you get to the book. Brian Cox wasn't as good as Hopkins but he is a great actor.

 

Much as I love the original, it never managed to scare me or give me the weird-factor that Red Dragon did. I have not seen the original version of Lecter, and only seen the final half hour of Hannibal - which was pretty danged gorey!!! Lolz. So yes, Red Dragon is definately my favourite, so far.
With another sequal planned, though... Who knows! Lolz.

Manhunter is one of those films I didn't like the first time I saw it, but in hindsight doesn't seem so bad. I think I need to watch it again.

Hannibal is vastly underrated and Red Dragon get bonus points for a nekkid Ralph Fiennes.

Brian Cox the better Lector what the hell are you smoking,he`s a terrific actor but you can`t even compare the performances...

Silence Of The Lambs for me, really great story and characters!

 

I haven't seen them all yet so I can't say which one is my favorite.
