No, we definitely use St. Patrick's Day for that, too.
halloween is an excuse to be stupid if you're in college maybe. and in that sense doesn't really differ from any weekend.
The whole Halloween-->Thanksgiving-->Christmas Season IS. THE. BEST. Three months of JOY.
Not this year.
I haven't made Thanksgiving plans yet but the only real option is "somewhere I can yell at the TV."
My sister already lives in fear that I'm going to teach her kids swear words, so I might not be at her house his year...
Halloween. My absolute favorite childhood memories are of me dressing up as the devil and unsuccessfully attempting to scare Haunted Houses volunteers in my vicinity whenever I visited. Not that relaxing on 7 feet of snow Beach-style in December wasn't fun.
I love them both, but I have to go with Christmas because a) it lasts longer and b) I gets presents.
Halloween, Christmas is a bully, and every year Christmas tries to overpower, and suck away holidays like Columbus day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and New Years. In essence, Christmas has been raping other holidays.
That's why I give trick or treaters lube
Any concerned parents come knocking the next day? "My kid wanted a Kit-Kat, not K-Y!"
I like how cold it feels during Christmas. Love the air!
It's almost that time of year again... I saw people at the store putting out both Halloween and Christmas stuff at the same time the other day!
Any new thoughts? Or does the Turkey beat them both?
Thanksgiving is the best.
im sticking with my 2015 answer. which is weird cus usually my old posts makes me wonder wtf was my problem. cant wait to find this post in another four years and see if ive developed further.
Christmas. Halloween is for children. Christmas is for everyone.... who celebrates Christmas
Because people can decorate early and nobody complains. My neighbors deck out their yards for Halloween in September. If you dare wear a green sweater before the day after Thanksgiving you got an army of people saying your too early. Also Halloween is just fun and Christmas is a lot of work, deciding what to buy and who to buy for and baking and decorating and taking time off work and feeling like you have to be with family. UGH. No stress Halloween wins for me!
In my family, we're very straightforward. We give a list of things we want and let people surprise us from within that list. And we only have to buy presents for one extended family member, since we draw names and each just get one present. So it's low stress.
I'm not even as passionate about Disney Wars as I was about the pre-Disney ones, but I have to admit that it's been kind of nice to have a new SW movie for the year-end holidays four of the last five years, hasn't it? It's always a good excuse for a SW marathon
They started listening to Christmas music at work...
Just another reason Halloween is better then Christmas.
Christmas but not by much.
I have many fond memories of both throughout my life, but I've more recently come to appreciate the family gatherings that occur around Christmastime.
I'ts incredibly obviously Halloween since when celebrated correctly, it lasts from the end of September to the end of the first weekend after Halloween itself into November.
Christmas day is better, Halloween season is better. I misread and voted incorrectly.
