Census Which is the best flag?

Looking to find the best flag in the world.

There are some flags which will never be the best, such as:

* Canada - I mean, come on.
* Poland/Monaco/Indonesia - Go and sort your business out until you're not overlapping
* Miquelon/St Pierre - This French territory looks to be rocking a 15th century flag in battle.

The list is based on the strikingness of the design, the originality, or because they have a goddamn AK-47 on them:

Mozambique



If you cannot see the fact it has a modern battle rifle on it... get out.

Japan


It's a really striking image, especially when contrasted against Imperial Japan's busy flag.

Albania



Pretty sure this could be a guild tabard in Warcraft.

Bhutan



I mean, dragon.

Wales



More dragons, plus the promise of close harmony singing and places with names like Cylwyllyfydd or something.

Isle of Man


I don't even.

Tricolour (Netherlands)



There's a lot of countries that use a tricolour design - France, Ireland, Italy, India, the Netherlands etc.

Note: Please don't say "Old Glory". It's not got a single weapon or dragon on it.

 

Eagle loses to dragon.

 

The Japanese flag is the most aesthetically pleasing, but the Isle of Man got my vote... that design is more bonkers than Mozambique's inclusion of the AK-47.

Oh. The flag? I had to go with the theme of dragons.

 

I just found out from Wikipedia that the three legs on the Isle of Man flag are known as "the three legs."

Actually, now that you have mentioned this... it makes sense. I never considered it before; but I have to concede the three legs resemble three legs.

 

The accompanying motto is quocunque jeceris stabit, Latin for, "whichever way you throw, it will stand," which also on its face seems to make a lot of sense.

Honestly, I generally prefer the Union Jack or the French flags; both edging out Japan by a nose (or dot).

 

Mozambique has an AK-47, a hoe, and a book. I mean, it was an easy vote.

 

Looks like a medieval ass-kicking device to me.

You can vote for France by way of the Tricolour. It's the most ubiquitous design, hence why it's in.

Though Rogue_Ten is correct - all flags should have dragons. If not dragons, a wyvern is completely acceptable. As is a drake.

That is one messed up Mandalorian helmet.

 

Whilst I concede the Holy Handgrenade of Antioch is a powerful weapon, it's debatable whether it could best a dragon.
