I'm voting for Batman's rogues. Although I like the personalities of Spider-Man enemies, I gotta admit that as a former student of criminology, Batman's enemies are fascinating.

The problem is that most of their enemies haven't even made it to the movies yet, thus hard for the general public to fully appreciate what a great rogues gallery they both really have.

I think the major ones have certainly been adapted, some more than once. I don't think the general audience desperately needs Calendar Man or Molten Man to make a comparison. Batman's wins.

Sorry, but no one among Spiderman's enemies list can hold a handle to my girl, Harley.

I used to know a streamer on twitch who could do a spot on Harley impression. I wrote lines in the chat for her to say, it was fun.

I picked Spidey in the other poll

but I would definitely go with Batman’s enemies here

This could easily gone the other way as they both have a great roster. But in the end I have to pick Batman's.

i'd definitely say Spider-Man has the deepest rogue's gallery. Batman has some good ones, but also a few that are way out there.

This list of 258 characters in Spidey's rogues gallery makes a pretty compelling case, imho. The one for Batman seemed a bit more colorful back in the days of the 60s series, but since they started making movies they're mostly concentrating on the 6-7 villains that most people already know very well. Judging from the latest movie, they seem intent on continuing to do so.

Rhino's silence on the invasion of Ukraine has been deafening.

Spidey has a great cast of villains but Batman’s rogues gallery set the standard over 80 years ago.

Then we have the live action incarnation on the 60s Batman TV show which cements it. The series is structured around the rogues gallery concept of weekly rotating villains. It becomes part of the fabric of Batman.

Batman also has the most iconic roster of villains with the greatest depth.

I’m a huge fan of Doc Ock, Green Goblin, Vulture, Camealion, Sandman, Venom, Electro, etc. But they just aren’t as instantly recognizable and culturally significant as the Joker, Cat Woman, Riddler, Penguin, Mr.Freeze, Harley Quinn, etc. Batman has villains who are better known than the majority of Super Heroes.

    Definitely Spider-Man.

There’s so many more possibilities, powers, ranges of villainy, story potential, etc.

For Batman… they’re too boring. Deeper but in a one-dimensional way. Each exemplifies a different angle of what could be the same villain, or personifies a different mental illness or different aspect of psychology. Not a lot of range of story potential for each villain in Batman. They come across strong but once you’ve done a good focused story on them there’s nowhere else to go. Joker stands above the rest, he’s a clear archnemesis (while Spider-Man doesn’t have a singular arch-nemesis in the same way, Green Goblin comes closest, but so do Venom and Doctor Octopus sometimes, as can others). But none of the non-Joker Batman villains really makes the same impression, and almost every Joker story is fundamentally the same, just different in style or angle. And not sure if Batman ever truly struggles with any villain as much as Spider-Man does with several, Batman is too detached.

Growing up, the rogues gallery on the Batman show was always good for a laugh
But the villains in the 60s Spider-Man show were so grotesque, sometimes I had nightmares. They definitely left a huge impression.

Truly, Batman's one-dimensional stereotype villains can't hold a candle to the likes of the deeply nuanced foes such as Stilt-Man or the Hypno Hustler.
