I am actually suprised that George Lucas is winning so far. Sure he may be one of the greatest STORYTELLERS, but I don't think he is one of the best DIRECTORS!

 

Spielburg.
George is an awful director.

Well, I thought that too, [bParanoidAni-droid[/b], but really, while I think Stanely Kubrick is a better director than Steven Spielberg, I much prefer Steven Spielberg as a director. If that makes sense.

My friend and I have been discussing the issue of who is the best filmmaker in cinema today. Our consensus is on Spielberg, all in all, he is the sole heir to Kubrick's kingdom. He is a master in full form, a commercial and artistic genius!

Lucas & Spielberg are pretty much tied as my favorite directors.
