I still really like Filoni, but yes, it's time to let Ahsoka go. Finish up her show, and give her the heroes death that she's earned.

I’d be the best choice, but alas, I’m busy.

Well, RJ and JJ have been very careful when it comes to SW and everything the fans loved.

After you watch the new Godzilla film, only one conclusion will be possible -- Takashi Yamazaki should not only direct and write a SW film asap, but they should hand him a trilogy or hell just hand the entire future over to him. ;)

Seriously though, this guy is the real deal and he is even asking to direct a Star Wars.

Godzilla Minus One has what SW has been lacking so much in recent years: a human heart.

Crazy thing is that it really isn't difficult to insert a human story into a fantasy film. And it really isn't hard at all to get inspiration to do so and even make it the focus. The OT did that.

Andor was one of the most human-hearted Star Wars products ever made, so I don’t at all agree with this assessment. That said, I think Yamazaki would be a great choice to direct a future Star Wars film.

    Noah Hawley.
I've been really enjoying the newest season of Fargo.
If he's not involved in a film, then perhaps a show, instead.

I want to see Neil Gaiman pen a Star Wars script. He's done it for "Doctor Who" and he wrote the English script for the dub of "Princess Mononoke", not to mention he wrote the epic that is "The Sandman".

I love the movie Stardust. Gaiman's novel was good, but for me it was one of the rare occasions that the movie was better.

I can certainly see plenty of crossover between Starwars and Mad Max and he's both in good form even at his age and showing plenty of invention still.

Much less leftfield but Garth Edwards should be brought back, the man made IMHO by far the best SW film since the originals which arguably helped create a lot of the sty;e/tone for Disney+ series since. Pair him up with Tony Gilroy writting again, thats a great matchup.

Gareth Gilroy is indeed one of the best directors working today.

Honestly to me that seems like the real story of Rogue One, maybe handled badly but I think showing again that they do work really well beyond as on Godzilla.

The Creator I think showed Edwards has a style very well suited to Starwars still, location work mixed in with CGI and that sued techno industrial look but perhaps lacks a bit of subtly dramatically without Gilroy.
