Who sponsored Anakin in the Mos Espa race?

I know qui-gon did right? but who else?

didnt look like he had too many stickers on his car. And I noticed that sebulba had tons of them. it makes it more interesting to know who sponsored Anakin. I wonder who jabba sponsored or that guy from willow.

Hi, starwarsagent! Yes, it was Warwick Davis. He took out a loan and was able to secretly sponser Anakin. He subsequently became quite rich and then retired until last year, when he surfaced in Taylor Hackford's "Ray".

Seriously, though, I don't know.

 

I belive Padme did also.

Um, the deal between Qui Gon and Watto is: Watto pays the entry fee (sponsorship)and Qui Gon supplies the pilot and pod racer. If they win Watto keeps the purse, less the amount to repair the ship, and Qui Gon gets his parts. The bit about Anakin being freed was a different side bet.

 

I don't think the stickers represent the sponsors (as is the case with NASCAR) I think they're just there for decoration.

The topic of this thread is pointless.

 

Actually Qui-Gon supplied the pod (since Anakin had already built it) and the entry fee and Watto simply supplied Anakin. If Anakin won Watto got to keep all of the winnings minus the cost of the part's Qui-Gon needed and if he lost Watto got to keep Qui-Gon's ship.

But yeah, this is rather an odd discussion.

 

I thought Anakin had the pod in Watto's shop, and since Watto didn't want him to wreck another pod, he wouldn't supply the pod.

Watto bought Anakins way in and Qui-Gon cheated with the cube.
