The Mandalorian Who will be The Mandalorian?

"Now, insiders tell Variety that he has been offered the role and negotiations are underway."
I thought they started shooting weeks ago, so how is it possible that the main character Hasn't been cast yet ?
+ We have a picture of the mandalorian already

 

Simple. They’ve only filmed action scenes with stunt actors so far. Or scenes without the Mandalorian present. Or Pascal already started filming, but there are still some contract issues to work out. Etc.

 

I thought about that but still they started filming almost 2 months ago, it would be a very long time without the main actor, the stunt scene don't take that long usually and that would be a lot of screen time without the main character.
Anyway its strange to start filming before the cast of the main character.

 

Perhaps. It’s also possible he started filming already (for a first season) based on a short-term contract (or a completed one that still needs tweaking), but they’re still negotiating his longer-term contract. I don’t know. All I know is that this sort of thing seems to happen often.

 

Awesome! Pedro Pascal will be great for the role of a Mandalorian.
This deal is getting better and better. I hope Vader does not alter the deal any further.

 

So if Pedro Pascal is just entering negotiations now, who the hell was the person in the photo in the Mando gear? Not the Mandalorian? Or just random stuntperson? Or he doesn't get his gear back in the 1st ep and someone is running around in it.

Maybe Pascal's character kills The Mandalorian (seen in the first look photo) and then takes his gear and becomes "The Mandalorian". Hijinks ensue.

"Perhaps I killed a Jedi and took it from him!" etc. etc.

Or it was just stuntwork B-roll stuff. But that is my least favourite option, murder and stealing is much better.

 

Pascal is playing the Mandalorian. The set photos were of the Mandorian.

 

Hopefully not Woody Allen.

Pedro Pascal does not look SO much different from Temura Morrisson, really-especially once in the confines of a SW production.

That's all I will say about that...

 

On the flip side he doesn't look like Woody Allen.

 

Intriguing backstory. It certainly fits in line with the request to have an unaltered clone for himself, which Lama Su sensibly thought was peculiar.

 

I really hope he's not a clone. An exiled Mando would be better, IMO.

 

But if he's just negotiating now, why was he on set and acting and taking photos? Free Cosplay?

 

I'm sure it could be assumed that (as with many characters in full body costumes) the person inside the actual costume there may have only been a stunt actor. Or something like that.

hahaha honestly now whenever the Mando has his mask on I'm gonna wonder if Pedro bothered to show up that day. Hell, Robert Downey Jr. fully admits when the Iron Man mask is on "I'm off sipping mai tais"

 

Are we sure it is a man? Gina Carrano is awesome, and she is officially in the show. She likely could kick the ass of any male actor they hire, so I don't know....

Well this thread does have the highest mandorian count I've ever seen. Maybe the mandorian is a Jebi?
