can anyone remember that tales from the river cottage thing where some woman cooked up her placenta (sp?) after she'd given birth and then fed it to all the guests at the baby shower thing....that was nice

a lot of women eat their after-birth.... supposed to be rich in nutrients... but I'll grant you it sounds like the most unpleasant thing ever.

Actually, our dogs used to eat the after-birth when we had calves born.... and when we de-horned the little fellas, the dogs would eat up the horns... like hot chestnuts, I guess...
