CT Why didn't Chewie shoot first?!

We don't know that it is an error. And who is to say that Chewie would hear Greedo, much less see them together?

 

I'm not sure how the SE revisions compound it or really have any effect on it so whatsoever. Chewie either sees Greedo walking up as he leaves or he doesn't. What happens afterwards has nothing to do with it.

Fair enough. Just my opinion is all.

I always figured Chewie was long gone before Greedo arrived anyway.
Only chimed in as it brought to my attention, in this thread, that Chewie was indeed right there, whether intentionally or not.

 

Han was in a rush so Chewie went immediately to prepare for take off. That's my impression Chewie hurried off while Han was accusted by Greedo.

 

I concur. I also believe Chewie was confident that Han could handle Greedo both swiftly and adeptly.

You only figured it that way because you didn't see Chewie was still there until it was pointed out to you. There was no error at all, especially due to the SE which had nothing to do with it. There were only three minor edits in the entire Cantina scene when the SE came about. Everything else was the same as it was in 1977.

 

ah Greedo slides up on Han right behind Chewie's back it seems, Chewie isn't looking back because he knows Han isn't going to follow him because Han last said "Get back to the ship and get her ready." The only minor tick is Greedo saying "Going somewhere, Solo"? And you can chalk that up to Chewie didn't hear Greedo say that cuz the band / bar chatter was too loud.
