    He didn't bother to kill Anakin for not stopping Tarkin.

    Anakin was guilty of not making any effort to prevent Tarkin from destroying Alderaan. But Tarkin was guilty of destroying Alderaan. This is why I don't understand why a lot of people want to dump most of the blame on Anakin.

    In the out takes, Chief Bast and Vader discuss the search for the droids, and Bast says to Vader, 'meanwhile, we waste time on Tarkin's silly plan to break her'. I always understood this as a reference to the Alderaan incident. However, like the death of Shaak Ti, out takes aren't necessarily canon.

    The purpose of the Empire is to destroy their Rebel enemies at all costs and Vader is a part of that Empire so preventing Tarkin from using whatever is necessary would arouse odd suspicion towards Vader even if he's second to the Emperor.

    Vadar is blamed because its guilt by association. Leaders of the Empire all share blame for war crimes and atrocities, so even though Tarkin pulled the trigger, all share the blame.

    Anakin/Vader certainly bears his share of guilt for all of the Empire’s crimes, of which Alderaan is surely the greatest, but it seems clear to me that his only real role in the film is to retrieve the DS plans, and that Alderaan’s destruction is 100% on Tarkin.

    OK Vader didn’t stop him, but why would he? He was pretty used to mass murder at that point. It took finding out his son was alive to even start to reawaken his goodness, and he initially reacted to that by going on a killing spree of subordinate officers.

    Anakin/Vader hated the Death Star!

    “Don’t be too proud of this technological terror you’ve constructed. The ability to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the power of the force.”

    Vader was a true believer in the force.

    Palpatine had two constructed, both meeting the same fate. I guess we might include The Last Order (cringe), with an entire fleet of Star Destroyers with Death Star tech. For some reason, for all his power, he was materially fixated on technological terror with glaring flaws. Never learned his lesson.

    I would imagine Vader receives the blame because he was the only survivor of the Death Star I (save for Luke & Company), and is Palpatine's Right-Hand Man. Also, no one alive knows of his private reservations about the DS.

    She had 4 deaths

    Once sarlac

    Twice stab in the heart. ( General grievous and Anakin

    Chopped up by Anakin (in Lego Star wars the complete saga)

    And even then she's still not considered officially dead.

    Vader is complicit in the genocide of alderaan and in the enslavement of the wookies

    According to the United Nations

    Article II
    In the present Convention, genocide means any of the following acts committed with
    intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group, as
    such:
    (a) Killing members of the group;
    (b) Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group;
    (c) Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part;
    (d) Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group;
    (e) Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group.

    Article III
    The following acts shall be punishable:
    (a) Genocide;
    (b) Conspiracy to commit genocide;
    (c) Direct and public incitement to commit genocide;
    (d) Attempt to commit genocide;
    (e) Complicity in genocide.

    Vader is at the very least guilty of "conspiracy to commit" along with complicity in genocide.

    As he is palpatine's right hand

    George is planning a new SE where Vader says N0000000000000000000000000000000000000 right before Alderaan is blown up so we're all good.

    Still would be complicit as he helped building and not to mention the enslavement of the wookies in its construction

    Last time I checked, the Empire was never part of the UN. :D
