PT Why do we have to pussyfooting around the artistic failure of TPM here?

    I've noticed a disquieting norm on these boards in that it seems very little substantive criticism of TPM is allowed without being construed as "bashing." The implication seems to be that criticism of TPM is , by definition, never in good faith. I think I can speak for all people who see TPM for the artistic failure that it so obviously is when I say that I certainly take no relish in observing that the most anticipated movie in history turned out to have a borderline incompetent screenplay.

    How are we ever going to properly situate the PT in the history of Star Wars and film in general if we all have to collectively pretend that TPM wasn't a disaster?
