Anyone ever notice that how Lucas pronounces things is way different than how they are pronounced in the movies? Some main examples are Naboo, Gungans, Padme, Geonosis...there are some other ones but I can't really think of them right now.

And most people will say "He created them, how can he pronounce them wrong?" Well why doesn't he tell the actors that they are pronouncing it wrong and correct them?

EDIT: Oh, "Dooku" is another I thought of

I have no idea why George mis-prounounces his own creations. I believe he mis-prounces them simply because, as you stated, he would tell the actors that they are not saying them right when being filmed. I go by pronounciations we hear in the movies.

Interesting topic. I would be very curious to hear what GL's official response to this would be.

I've noticed that some words in the films, including "Naboo" and "Dooku," are pronounced differently by certain characters. And I've also noticed that sometimes an actor will give a word several pronunciations, several 'interpretations.' Example: Yoda's pronunciation of "Dooku" shifts in AotC. Obi-Wan's pronunciation of "Naboo" is different in TPM and AotC. There are others.

I dont know why we do this, whenever i write a screenplay theres always two or three characters i pronouce differently, i dont know why

I think its cause i created them and so its like nick names, maybes its the same with george

or maybe thats how you actually pronouce them but when the actors read them they said it that way and so lucas just didnt correct them

A common explanation is also that different people from different regions pronounce things differently. For example someone from Kentucky would say things with different accents and stresses on words than someone from New York would. Realistically it should be the same for the GFFA.
