So Elon apparently ordered the algorithm tweaked so his tweets get more attention. He got bad that more people viewed a tweet by Biden on the Superbowl.

We're removing our Twitter feed on our homepage at work, as they're now charging to access the API. And from the look of internal numbers, not many people were engaging with it to begin with so it looks like we'll be dropping Twitter all together.

Twitter got hacked and user credentials were leaked less than a year ago-- before Elon came in and got rid of everyone who won't deepthroat his boot. Locking 2FA behind a paid tier is a genius idea.

BI reports that at a meeting Musk floated putting all of Twitter behind a paywall (this was also reported around the time Musk bought it). Whether that happens in piecemeal fashion as it is happening now or an all at once edict comes out remains to be seen.

Apparently this doesn't affect authenticator apps which are more secure than SMS anyway. The problem is that a large segment of Twitter's active user base probably doesn't know how to use them.

I like that in the thoughtless attempt to have Asians as a fig leaf for his "white people are so oppressed" message, he's implicitly claimed that racism against them is new. Because I guess the Asian Exclusion Act of 1924 is, to him, an example of the US treating Asians exactly the way they should be.
