Will it ever be possible to travel faster than the speed of light?

Yes.

 

All the evidence suggests that we'll never be able to do this, but I didn't have the heart to vote no.

Not in this dimension. Maybe if we learn how to enter some sort of "hyperspace", or if we could move spave itself.
Not technically, but it will have the same effect(except for all that nasty relativity stuff). I voted yes.

 

I read something once about using the dark matter making that possible... maybe.

 

Well... since faster than light travel is technically impossible, it would be hard to vote yes.

And since wormholes, and bending the universe would require more energy than humankind would be able to harness in several lifetimes, it would still be hard to vote yes.

But it's a testament to by total disregard for the facts, that I voted "Yes!"

Maybe it already is possible! If the question was "Will it ever be possible for humans to travel faster than the speed of light, I might have put no.

 

It's already possible, someone sent some particle through a field of something or rather and it went through about 100x faster than the speed of light.

Humans? Probably in 500 - 1000 years or more....

 

It was 300x actually.

btw, we are travelling faster than light at the moment (relative to a photon travelling in the opposite direction )

I voted yes, because I believe the impossible can and will happen, it's not a question of if---it's a question of when!

 

Well, we won't be able to travel faster than the light itself, but we might be able to take shortcuts (wormholes, black holes) and get places faster than it.

I voted yes. I truly believe that for the most part, anything's possible. Some things are more unlikely than others. It may take a long time but I do think man will one day travel faster than the speed of light.

 

Who wouldn't say yes - I want to be first to visit all the stars!
