The ST is not going to be about everyday conversation, hopefully.

the conversations are just as important as the action. The PT is for me loosely based on two conversations in ANH - the luke/beru/owen convo and the obi wan/luke convo so i expect to see similar discourse referencing events in both PT and OT. The ST will have to appease lovers of the whole SW universe....PT/OT/CW/EU to be a true success

They're also about everyday people drawn into a much larger situation. How many farm hands talk about the political complexities that led to World War 1?

The ST will still be based on Lucas' plot outlines--so I doubt they'll ignore the PT.

No, i can see the main characters making references to what happened in the PT and how to avoid to what happened

I heard Disney is going to make owning a copy of Attack of the Clones a felony.

George Lucas sold Star Wars to Disney to purge his sins! JJ Abrams was hired to kill the sequels! It's all a massive conspiracy by Paramount to kill Star Wars! *Rabblerabblerabble*

The connections forged between the PT and OT are so indivorcable that the ST has no choice but to respond thematically to all that has come before. Whether JJ is gonna be as in-your-face about calling back to the older movies (like STID was) is another question, but in GL's administration, subtlety was king. I hope the nods to the previous saga remain more subdued within the story and cinematography, like how the PT was constructed in response the OT.

The PT isn't getting ignored, but I hear Disney is retconning the OT out of existence for the ST...

Why does this thread exist, again?

The ST will be an infinities story in which Palpatine didn't hit a reactor!

If it continues the saga it must follow certain rules. Ignoring the PT serves no purpose at all save for a few characters being alive. The PT is ultimately defined by what preceded it...the OT. If ep7 was to deviate from the saga then it could not be called a "sequel" trilogy.

That would make it realistic. A lot of people seem to want that.

A political/war movie in which all dialogue is about where to eat dinner is realistic?

I meant, like mundane everyday conversation. "How was your bowel movement?"

Past, current, theological conversation, yes. Humor, absolutely. Great dialogue is what I want.
