IS this thing ready to burst yet? I mean, we're coming up on Valentine's Day. Is there going to be a challenge for V-day? I'd like to see one.

 

According to Kit' over on the "Stylus and Flimsy" thread, the mods have OKed the idea of a contest for every two months... October, December, February.

I don't think a Valentine's challenge is out of the question.

 

Maybe V-Day will have a maximum length on it though.

 

Nah, probably just a maximum number of individual entries... at least, for ME...

 

I wouldn't mind doing a V-day story, as long as I get to do a viggie! I don't DO novels!!! ARG!

No kidding, TG! I got to the last of yours and, after quoting the 'Free at Last' speech, said, "What, I have to rate them highest to lowest? NO FAIR!" Not just for yours. I hated judging for one reason: They're all so fun to read and some made me get choked up and others just made my day and they all should have won. That's why I wrote very nice things about each entry in my comments, which I will send over to the posts themselves, once my life gets a little less hectic.

Yeah, Ish, I thanked God Almighty that I was Free At Last when I finished writing "This New Year's Eve."

Honestly, my original intent was to stop at the end of "Home for the Holidays" and put a brief historical footnote post...

Master Rostov went on to take on several of Yoda's training clans. He was killed in the battle of Geonosis.

Yu Martuf went on to train two padawans.

Sath Sulvich became a novelist, and eventually fathered the first Kameer Jedi in the NJO.

The Svazdipir lights shone again the year of the Battle of Geonosis...

Etc, etc, etc, etc.

However, there is that old writer's adage, better to show than to tell, and once I heard a song on which I based some of the character's feelings in "This New Year's Eve," the story had a hold of ME and wouldn't let me go.

Thank the Lord for time limits, or it'd still be dragging on.

I do apologize for the delay; I think RL hit Derisa harder than she expected. But everything else is totaled up and ready to go when those last scores get in.

I haven't heard about a Valentine's Challenge, yet, but it is early. I am going to bow out for this round at least.

Well thanks to this little writing adventure I'm now writing a follow-up story to one of my entries.
