Thank you, Mistress_Renata, DarthIshtar, and Derisa_Ollamhin, for all your hard work. I read many of these entries as well, and it looks like it was a very difficult competition to judge. The quality of so many stories was very high.

Excellent work all around.

 

The work was excellent on all the entries. I also read a lot of the entries and I did not envy the judges. It must have been a very difficult call.

I can't wait to see the Valentine's challenge and I'm entering as a personal challenge because I don't write mush.

 

And now the big question: Who is going to host the Valentine's Day Challenge?

 

As long as I don't have to judge! THere was some mush in this contest, but not a horrible amount. An entire contest dedicated to the mushy side of the force... ::Shudders.::

 

Force help me, Jane, but I'm thinking about it. I've some ideas already, and will be putting together a proposal next week to submit to the mods for their perusal and hopefully (?) approval. Volunteers for judges will be sought at the appropriate time... hint hint.

In truth, even with the delay, it was a wonderful chance to read all the way across the spectrum of eras, and get a relatively quick insight into some 25 different authors, which was very cool for me.

Thanks for all the thanks, you guys: it's nice to be appreciated. And thank you lot for giving me something to spend the first part of my 04 doing.

Well, I judged the last two, so I'm taking a break. Amidala has kindly agreed to host Valentine's Day, and was looking for volunteers to help her, so if you want to do something with that, you might want to get in touch. I was trying to remember if the Winter FF Awards had a "Romance" category, in which case I was going to suggest she ask the winners of that to help her.

Derisa & Ishtar did such a great job, I felt guilty about asking either of them to do it again so soon, so they'd have a break. But hey, if you're genuinely interested... It would be nice to have a "pool" of people to be able to call on for this.

There are also several challenges up that aren't really contests; entering simply for the interest and experience and no judging (which gives us a chance to play, too).

But if anyone is interested in Valentine's Day, Amidala is the person to ask!
