Absolutely gorgeous, Your_Worshipfulness!! I cannot believe that you hesitated to post, with the quality of work you're presenting here! I can't see anything out of place--it looks like a photograph, for cryin' out loud! I simply have to know: what did you use to render this masterpiece (pencil, pastel, charcoal--and on what type of paper...? Please...?)? We insist on seeing more--you simply must put up more! Oh...and welcome to the Fan Art Forum! :D

    **waits breathlessly for another post...**

Wow! Thank - you everyone for all the compliments and replies. I really do appreciate it and I'm glad that you all like the piece.

I know you're all going to think I'm crazy for saying this, but I was actually a little worried that I didn't quite catch her likeness. When it comes to critiquing, I'm my worst enemy, as it's always the 'bad' that I see in my work rather than the 'good'. So it makes me feel so much better to know from your responses, that that is not the case at all. Once again, a great big Thank - You to everyone who took the time to post! ^_^

FalconFan - Thank - you very, very much. :)

To answer your question, it was all done in pencil (Specifics: Koh-i-noor art pencils H-HB-2B-3B-4B). I guess I should have mentioned that above, eh?

As for the paper, I used my Strathmore Sketchpad - 300 Series Drawing which says it's good for any type of dry media. It's got somewhat of a grainy texture which I think is really good for blending in my opinion.

tyratoku - Thanks ^^, and yes, I'm working on a picture of Master Yoda that I just started today. I'm a little weary as to how it's going to turn out because he's so detailed. Not sure when I'll be done either as I'm working on another picture for my sister unrelated to Star Wars at the same time. If it turns out okay, I'll post it up.

Again, I can't thank-you all enough for your kind comments.

It's a terrific likeness. You managed to capture a subtle expression in and around her mouth, instead of just her eyes, which is very hard to do.

I'm glad to see you decided to post and I'm very much looking forward to seeing more of your work in the future!

Actually, I'm not really happy with her mouth or the light wispy threads of hair along the sides of her cheek and up to the hairline. I just couldn't get the hairs to look the way I wanted and kind of gave up. As for the mouth, I think it's a bit...off? A tad too small maybe? Geez i really don't know. Something about it bothers me though.

I have no idea when I'll be done working on Yoda. I tend to work at a snails pace, and that little sucker is far too detailed for my tastes...

First and foremost, I just want to say how much Episode III rocked! I finally got around to seeing it on Friday. :)

Well, it took awhile, but I finished the "Yoda" picture I was working on, though I still may 'retouch' it. I royally screwed up the top of his head (something which I can't seem to fix though), the detail on his sleeve is a tad off, and I'm not entirely sure I pulled off the shadowed portion of his head very well. The image is from the same Magazine I used for the 'Leia' image, but I'm sure everyone has seen it before as it's apparently plastered all over the Internet.

Also wanted to add that I don't think I've worked on any artwork so diligently since way back in High School, so I just want to thank everyone - yet again - for your kind comments from before, because it really kept me motivated to finish this. [face_love]

Holy ***p, Your_Worshipfulness!!! I can see, like when I post in gatodama's thread, I'm going to have to get out the thesaurus, looking for words that mean "outstanding" or "superb," because those don't even come close to describing your work! It's like Master Yoda is about to walk out of the monitor, he looks so d***ed real! Gorgeous shading, as before--just an incredible sense of the character here, with the thoughtful expression on his face, and his finger to his pursed lips...just beautiful!! I personally don't see the things you mentioned as "problems" with this--I love it, and think it's absolutely stunning! You are "The Master!" (Of course, I've used that title before, for other artists here--but I really mean it, too! :D )
