Would the Jedi Council have been able to REFUSE Anakin's appointment ?

Darth Sinister, you are totally correct about just about everything here but when Anakin was saying that spying was against the Jedi Code aside it being against the Republic, why didn't Obi-Wan have an answer for that? Are we totally certain that spying was against the code of the Jedi? Skywalker reacted very sternly when he learned of his assignment.

But obviously it wasn't a prudent choice for the Council to approve Skywalker's appointment. They didn't care about Anakin's appointment. All they cared was that Anakin work on the inside and see if he could dig up something on Sidious.

 

Palpatine manipulated every facet of the war starting with his election as senator, to the Naboo blockade, to his eventual declaration as the emperor. The Jedi did not even realize they were being squeezed with no way out by Palpatine. He was able to anticipate their every move because either Anakin was telling him everything or Palpatine was meeting with them and was working out the plan together.

 

I have said this before. Palpatine/Sidious is the greatest puppet master.

He is in my opinion the greatest villan to ever set foot on the silver screen.

Yes,because Mace even says something to the point that Palp should mind his own business,Jedi's will deal with their own business.

But this way,they think he's making a mistake. This way,they can send Anakin to spy on him thinking he'll know none the less.

Also,how do you think it would look if the Jedi refused it?Palpataine says himself Anakin is the only jedi he trusts,and how do you think that would look if the Jedi denied him that?It would look like their plotting something...
